Disappointing to read a few of the comments. I'm not arrogant, or smug, or any of the things you say. I had just suffered a huge disapppointment 2 minutes from the final flag.
My comments about Ollie were in no way meant to be taken in such a way. The whole "should have bought him a beer" line should give you some clue to the tone of my comments.
Ollie had no reason to get out of the way, nor did I expect him to. He did not move aside for Colin either which is absolutely fair. My comments were purely based on my disappointment and of course I wish the race had gone another way. Did being behind Ollie those laps make a difference? I don't know. The failure was coming regardless.

There were a lot of contributing factors and what's done is done.

I like this website, I like fellow car enthusiasts. So before you start to attack my character maybe take a second to look at the bigger picture.

I won't go any further, I don't need to justify myself to anyone. And those who actually know me, and the fans that take the time to speak to me know I am none of the things said in this thread.

I'll leave you to your character assassination. Oh and Ollie, I have no hard feelings, why would I, you did nothing but your best for you and your team. See you next time!
Yeah the arrogant comments are out of order. I did think some of the comments were a bit ungracious as they sounded a bit Alonso 2010 esque but definitely the context appears to have been lost online so apologies for that.

Think we can all say for sure though that the BMW was the quickest car all year. Seemed like quite a disparity between them and the rest of the cars at a lot of the tracks. So to finish 2 points off of a multiple time champion who's in the quickest car is nothing to be ashamed of.

Thanks for the response to the comments Dan, I agree it must have been a dreadful experience to be that close and for it to be taken away so near the end, and I do really feel sorry for you.
However my comments are not based solely on what you said on Sunday when emotions were clearly running high. My thoughts are based on my observations on your public profile over the period since you joined BTCC. You may recall you made a comment early in your BTCC career about running other drivers of the track on Facebook, I commented at the time that Honda/Yuasa should have a word with you about making such comments on a public forum. You are clearly a very talented driver but IMHO you need to examine how you come across, often to youngsters who see you as a role model.

I am not a fan of one particular driver or team, merely a fan of the sport and fair play and courteousness throughout.

I wish you luck in the future and really hope the title you almost clinched this year becomes a reality for you soon.

I was so desperate for Da Cammster to win it; would have been awesome.

And a very dignified interview at the end. Hats off to him for what must have been a tough one.

Great to see some comments from both Ollie and Dancam on this thread. There are plenty of racers on PH but nice to see input from those at that level.

Shame the season is over already, what we need now is a WNBTCC.

Winter Not-British-TCC, ship the teams out to the south of Europe and run some races in decent weather in Spain, Italy, Portugal, we'd all still be watching.

And who would pay for all this? Some teams/drivers struggle to find the funds for the ten rounds of BTCC.

Yeah, I think the original comment here was a loose idea, not a genuine proposal...

Beautiful. Just caught up with this and loved it. Turkington really is one of the best of the last 15 years or so.

I think Cam does come across as a little arrogant at times, but I think that's just his personality. He's obviously a decent racer. You need that level of arrogance I think. Look at the likes of Schumcher, Senna, Prost, Vettel, and in the BTCC days, early Plato. James Thompson, Menu etc. They just have that certain 'air' about them that Cammish has. I don't think he's trying to be a tt, and to lose on the last few laps due to malfunction must be a killer blow, but he still seemed positive. I honestly think he'd be a perfect candidate for BMW rather than Honda tbh. When you look outside the immense form of the BMW's, he was the only one in the entire championship to ever cause Turkington or Jordan any championship problems. I didnt want him to win, but I respect the effort he was clearly putting in, using a slower, FWD car and in fairness, I cant recall any time during the season where he punted somone off or was a bellend of any sort. The whole beer comment is being taken out of context. He even said it with a smile when he said it. He was making a simple joke and I cant believe people are getting worked up on that.

That matt neal is a different story. A top of the range, cheating throbber who consistently resorts to just crashing into people whenever he likes. In all the years i've followed the BTCC, i dont recall one occasion where he's put his hand up and said an apology or admitted that something he has done was in the wrong. He's a smug bd and is probably still burtthurt that he has almost always been second fiddle to plato. He's a has-been cheating, cocky, smug arrogant bellend, and the sooner he leaves the BTCC the better. Honda are a good team and they don't need some trash like him who lives in the past and think's he's gods gift to the BTCC when there's so many other better drivers out there who could do a much better job for Honda. I used to feel sorry for Sheddon having to work alongside that tosser.

In other news, I'm also looking forward to next season, where I can continue to play the; "what lap will Stephen Jelly crash on" game.

Depends how you define second fiddle. He's got more titles than Plato for example.
