Formula e 2019/2020 season
Discussion
I've tried to like Formula E, but like many others there is much to dislike about it - slow speeds, Mickey Mouse tracks, coasting, swapping cars.
During lockdown there was marble racing with the full Formula E commentary, and sadly, I found it more gripping to watch....

I'm with you. Maybe I'm getting old, but I find the whine of the motors really irritates me. It must be the frequency or something, but it's like Chinese water toture to me.During lockdown there was marble racing with the full Formula E commentary, and sadly, I found it more gripping to watch....

They haven't swapped cars since the second gen car for the 2018 season.During lockdown there was marble racing with the full Formula E commentary, and sadly, I found it more gripping to watch....

Both Audi and BMW are quitting FE after next year.
Not suprised. Its not going to get the easy ride it has in the past. Closing off city centres to run a race when the normal traffic flows are so restricted the rest of the time doesnt look good.Normal racing on race tracks looks more sensible as its out of sight of non motorsport fans.

Yes, I know that. They've now got a car that can just about get to the end of a comparatively short race. Last race I watched, I came to the conclusion that I'd prefer to have a go in the BMW i8 safety car.
I'm not against Formula E and I like their attempt to bring the racing to the masses rather than the other way round with city centre events, and have built a global sports programme from nothing in less than a decade. Its just not for me...
McLaren have signed up to have the option of entering with the gen 3 car in 2022/2023 season. https://www.fiaformulae.com/en/news/2021/january/m...
