The action was stopped for a couple of hours this afternoon for a fire in the paddock, the commentators said it was a team truck, but from other reports it may have been a Ginetta running in the Academy race, either way there was a lot of smoke, and it didn't seem to be put out properly until the fire brigade arrived.

To be fair race circuits are not set up to fight "off track' fires like transporters and restaurants etc. williamp said:
Great news for me: I'm allowed out so I'll be taking my two boys next weekend to Donington. Can't wait! First time in a long g time I've managed to ma eke a race meeting.
Enjoy! I've taken my little one for the last 3 times British GT has been at Donington. He loved it the first and second time, 3rd time I think he only came to get a hot dog, ice cream and a new toy car out of me!
If you haven't already, I'd recommend the parking outside of the old hairpin. Great to retreat to the car if the weather turns especially if you have kids with you as there's very little cover at Donington to shelter from the rain.
We went to this on Sunday and enjoyed it, weather was a bit rubbish in the morning but at least it wasn't windy which can be miserable at Donington. We paid for parking at Starkey's so we could watch from the car and stay dry until the rain eased a bit.
I have a question about the Bentleys if anyone can answer. When they were accelerating out of the corners they sounded as if they had a bad misfire, is this the traction control cutting in or were they both suffering from the same problem? A bit of water is the dizzy cap maybe

The rain stopped just before the race started, which was lucky!
It was a great weekend (really decent weather on Saturday) and brilliant to have crowds back to give it the buzz. Behind closed doors was not great at all.
I got to start the race and get soaked in Champagne when handing out the trophies at the end!
Planning starts for next year now and we really want to grow it further and attract a larger/new fan base by showing that F1 is not everything.
I am also planning on holding a competition here where the winner gets taken for a hot lap in the McLaren GT safety car before the race starts. I let a mate of mine have it yesterday and he got out looking like a schoolboy with a huge grin on his face (and feeling a bit wonky)!

Biased and a limited fan base, but show the orange army some love. I couldn't make it but know that a week before they were worried about the likely turn out!It was a great weekend (really decent weather on Saturday) and brilliant to have crowds back to give it the buzz.
