I find it strange that they have posted nothing on the website about the outcome of the meeting that they had yesterday..

still no news - TV commentary is showing F1 to be a managment farce...

even the good Mrs TVR is asking why they don't just change the track and kick out Ferarri? I know there are race rules etc but you can't run a race with 14 cars that can only do 14 laps - or indeed with only 6 cars that can race the distance.

F***ing stupid if you ask me...

Shows le Mans to be the well organised event that it is on a fraction of the costs...

The long term effects if they don't race could be huge, Bernie must be a very worried man!

I am a huge Ferrari fan but I say that they should build the bloody chicane and get racing!

What a total farce - only in F1 would you get this. Hundreds of thousands of punterss, hundreds of advertisers, millions of viewers - surely common sense will prevail.

Can someone fill me in? I've heard Ferrari mentioned in the coverage, but I'm unsure what is oing on; I haven't been able to follow any of the build-up to the race this weekend. I turned the coverage on at 6pm and that's it.

F1 has finally reached the imploding point. I have been predicting this for the past two years.

We are back to where we were in 1982 - who's in charge? The teams or the governing body?

Not suprisingly Ferrari are the only team that are saying no to the chicane or any changes at all (i think)

The point is that I had to agree with Ferrari to a certain extend, but from a viewers point of view they should gte the damm thing sorted.

Ah. So they need unanimous agreement and Ferrari are doing an "I'm alright Luigi"?

I find it amazing that Ferrari are apparently attempting to profit out of a genuine safety issue, even if it has been caused by Michelin's inability to provide a suitable tyre...

If the boot was on the other foot......

I understand.

I think Brundle has a point - everyone has their braking distances, engine maps, downforce, etc. set for the current circuit. It disadvantages everyone if you put a chicane in, and at the end of the day, it's Michelin's cock-up.

However, it is a disaster for the sport.

Maybe they should allow tyre changes for this race? The Bridgestone runners would have a massive advantage though.

Driver safety must come first, but isn't this just a case of Bridgestone designing a better tyre than Michelin for this race?

@Indianapolis
Michelin = fast but dangerous
Bridgestone = almost as fast but safer

Surely they should just get on with it - change the setup or driving style as needed to last the race as people have been doing for years to look after their tyres.

Makes for interesting F1 news though.

They're saying the Michelin tyres might not even last 10 laps! And it is a 73 lap race.

Anyway, it is a moot poit. Michelin have categorically stated they will not endorse the use of this tyre on this circuit.
The Michelin teams simply cannot race without the endorsement of Michelin.

And as usual, Bernie is shrugging his shoulders (Brundle is interviewing him as we speak)

Bernie is a complete idiot sometimes, he's the head of F1 and he should be answering the questions!
