He has the funding, sponsors onboard because of coverage every other Sunday on a free to air channel, his required modifications for driving are also not penalised.

Why should he take a step back? You only get one life buddy make the most of it however the cards fall

As been said many times, it's all down to funding. That's how motor racing works.

There's lots of great drivers out there, but until they can find the funding, they won't be driving in the BTCC.

Agreed. When my Euromillions numbers come up I fully intend to buy my way onto the grid. It’s a sad reality but Motorsport is ruinously expensive and the best drivers don’t always make it to the grid.
Don’t hate the player etc.

It's not up to any of us, none of our opinions matter in that sense. But this is a forum, the whole raison d'etre of which is for folks to share opinions, whether you agree with them or not....
