BTCC Round 8 - Snetterton 24th & 25th Oct
Discussion
The first time I ever went to a BTCC meeting I think was actually the last night race at Silverstone in 2000
It was a great spectacle but I think with today’s racing it would be a bit dicey. You didn’t get the big packs of cars back then as you do now and it would be hard to place what’s around you in the dark without a lot of ambient lighting.
I’ve done a few 24 Hour races, the way the traffic flows around you isn’t like touring car racing. Hilariously the C1 24 I did at Spa last year was probably the closest with the cars all being a similar speed. At moments even that could be hard work in the bigger packs
That’s doing 50mph less in a car half the size in a situation where everyone isn’t at each others throats for a short race
TLDR - it’d be great to watch but I’m scared

Placing Brands 3 weeks after the previous round and into mid November is a stupid bit of planning
Do you think it was actually "planned" to have the truncated series this year and the dates that this necessitated? Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
