The FiA Road Safety campaign isn't worth anything if they can't take action against one of their champions for driving like a prat on the road sections.
Actually, Ogier didn't drive through a red light and the other driver collided with Ogier, not the opposite.

Ogier was not considered at fault (for the moment) as the BMW tried to over take him on the right side( forbidden ) while the Toyota was changing lane.

Not sure that is correct. Seems to me Ogier just moved across the lane, regardless of what the BMW driver was doing, it shows a lack of observation.

From what I can find on different website, the crash was not the problem (not at fault). It is what has happened afterwards, he went while a police tried to stop him and then went through the red light.

He will not have been aloud to go by police officers if he will have gone through the Red light and cause a crash.

He got 5000euros fine from the FIA and 1 rally ban (if involved in another situation).

Re Read my posts above. He didn't cause a crash because he went through a red light like someone mentioned.
He had a crash(not his fault) then left in a rush and went through the red light (that is why he got the 2000euros). If he would have caused a crash because he went through a red light, he will have been in serious trouble.

It was a great rally, really shows that they should have more full tarmac events, not just loose surface!

Really disappointed with Breens event, he doesn't really get lucky with those mistakes. Ogier seems to have the favour of the Gods, so many little incidents going wide or tapping banks and no real repercussions. Obviously he's still the man to beat on tarmac but still gets away with a lot in my own opinion.

You definitely haven’t seen them in person then if you think they’re not spectacular..

And there is the perennial problem with the TV coverage. It just never comes across as spectacular. But you look at the fans-eye level stuff on YouTube and it's amazing. The sheer speed (and the sound!) hardly ever comes across well on the mainstream coverage, even the on-boards weirdly.

Until they find a way to crack this, rallying will not recover any popularity as a TV event.

If you're a fan of Historic rallying then you'll be glad to know that entries for the R.A.C Rally opened at 9:00 this morning; they had 200 entries in 45 mins....

that's not as much to do with historic rallying and all to do with the fact that there's a lot of drivers with money to burn as they haven't been competing and the fact that it is one of few event going ahead this year. A good effort though.

Cheers! beer

Brilliant roads alright, the Saturday stages were less than an hour drive from my house too which was nice and convenient.

Some good footage in team Paddon Otago highlights vid.

Nice to see them using one of my favourite roads for the pre-rally test too! hehe
