GT's at Silverstone in August.
Discussion
Just thought I'd see if we can get some sort of a tally as regards who is going to Silverstone in August for the GT weekend (mini Le Mans)?
Is there anybody from the PH community that will be camping for the weekend and will there be a PH 'area'?
I for one will be going with a mate and the plan is to camp over the weekend so as not to miss any on the track.
Well that and the fact that we couldn't make it to Le Mans this year so this will be the closest that we we will get until 2006

Will be there on Saturday for the LMES and maybe Sunday too.
Don't forget about the Britcar Willhire 24 hours at Silverstone in September, especially if you missed out on your fix of round the clock racing this year. I'm really looking forward to that one!
I'll be there for that one too!
I am still undecided as to whether to stay over night for the GT's or not? Does anybody know the times for the racing?
We'll be there (Mrs FFG and myself) on Saturday and Sunday (& camping over).
Will be there mid Saturday morning so save me a tent and car space please - we were lucky last year as some guy was just leaving as we arrived but the camping area was crammed.
Good weekend with the racing, BBQ, beers and a good band on Saturday night.

Hi there,
I don't suppose anyone knows where I can get a paddock pass from? Can you buy them or are they limited to the teams?
I went to the GP recently, was an excellent day and hope this should be equally good.
Thanks in advance
Last year IIRC you didn't need a seperate pass as your general admission ticket allowed you free access to the paddock. I would assume it's the same this year as Silverstone, in my experience, are fairly open as far as access goes for pretty much every event bar the GP.
BTW, this will be 10 times better than the GP!!
I hope so. I was very lucky to watch the GP from the BRDC so it was a very special day for me.
I haven't seen the Le Mans cars in the flesh for a while now so I'm very excited about that. Also the DB9R will steal the show for me.
Also there are GT and F3 which are always good fun to watch. Does anyone know if camping is available in the centre area? If not, where is the best place to camp in your opinion?
Cheers
Adam

Sorry to say this but i dont believe the Astons will be there for this one. They raced at Silverstone earlier in the year.
BTW- Camping is available (I suggest booking it now!).
Though i will be in the Travel Inn down the road!
Al.
Oh really sounds good. What car will you be in? I could drive?!
My Dad is the race engineer for Carlin F3 team so that is quite cool so means I hould get some good pics.
Not sure which I prefer to do, either to camp or travel inn it, I think I'll try and get a camping spot. Are many PHers going?
