Nope, I've already asked and had a response from them. No spectators to keep carbon emissions down.

Surely they could reduce carbon emissions even further by not racing at all.

Think I’d rather go and watch the e rally cross series than have to endure watching this live. At least that seems like good racing with next to no ‘save the planet bullst’.

Strange, all the times I've been to offroad events at Bovington the reason for no spectators has been that it's a MoD base so they don't want people wandering around picking up bullets etc. I guess that reason doesn't suit the agenda though.

Isn't the policy for all Extreme-E events to not allow spectators? (so not specific to the Bovington round)

Correct, although most events are in the middle of nowhere, so it's not really been a consideration until now.

Yes, and mainly because spectators tend to have more of an environmental impact than the race series (whichever series that may be).

Thought they would have learnt there lesson with dusty tracks, can't see how the racing will be close with the way the dust hangs in the air.

I'm enjoying the series, it's good to witness it grow and mature, but no longer bother with this thread because of this type comment.

They're big chunky off roaders that spend longer than seems sensible with fewer than four wheels on the ground. The drivers are a mix of sage old hands who make it look easy and young guns who have no fear and make mistakes. It all takes place on a track that has proper hazards for run-off areas and not just painted tarmac.

I suppose some prefer that high flying series where the stewards decide the results a few hours after the chequered flag and where two laps behind a safety car really is considered the pinnacle of racing.

What is the point of a one make race series when the cars clearly aren’t up to it, I just watched Sardinia, front suspension should not beak

I'm going to be marshalling over the weekend - some friends are already there helping out with the practice sessions. Interesting feedback so far.

Dust won't be an issue.

Dust is definitely not an issue! I think you need thigh high wellies on some parts of the course. Had the opportunity to have a look round the paddock yesterday. Everyone involved was very friendly and willing to have a chat. Was a pleasant surprise to meet Jenson Button who introduced his drivers, Kevin and Mikaela and then took a step back and let them be the team representatives.

It’s certainly a different event to work on. With timing driven by the TV director and not a navigator.

Will you be there tomorrow?

Currently repeating this mornings coverage leading up to final later.

Some good racing this morning.

Main takeaway from this is rosberg and button actually seem invested in there teams and can be bothered to show up...

Lewis on the other hand... (unless i just havnt spotted him on the coverage!)

Stuart Hall should be commentating.

The producers have been munching on 90's tv formats.
Double cheese all round

I hope Michael Masi is watching this as it should give him a few ideas on how to manipulate races smile
