Wish I’d tuned in to ITV4 for the day
Bonnet pins just sheared off at the base, no significant hits just a freak failure unfortunately
Although to be fair was more or less the final crimp of the massive turd that was the weekend in general!
But if a bummer to say the least. Just how much can see with the bonnet in airbrake mode? Bonnet pins just sheared off at the base, no significant hits just a freak failure unfortunately

With one pin snapped, bugger all, it was actually a relief when the second pin snapped because at least you can see under it!The bottom of paddock was a bit of a challenge but everywhere else ok.
Funny it happened to me once in the Audi at Oulton and the shape of the bonnet and my seating position meant it hardly made any difference to my view out! Was going to carry on until TOCA told us off and made us come in

Weird to see Turkington so uncompetitive whilst one of his team mates came one corner away from winning 2 races.
The track was weird all weekend and completely different to preseason testing. If you didn’t find a balance by Quali then you were stuffed with a load of other quick people racing eachother in the middle of the pack.
Jake runs a different setup to me and his engineer got the car balanced up for Quali.
We lost a bit of running time when I dropped it in the gravel at Druids in FP2 which didn’t help, but it took until Race 2 for us to really sort it out.
I chatted to Turks on the drivers parade and it was a similar story, running different setups and he was struggling to find a balance
Trouble is there’s a lot of tough competition in strong machinery these days, at a short track like Brands it doesn’t take much to really kick you out of bed

Atb for your next outing.
I think one of the hardest takeaways for Turkington will be that Brands didn't work for his set up / driving style and it is again the final round venue (although this time the GP track). If he is lucky enough to be in the hunt at that stage it will be a psychological challenge unless they can get some testing in

In fairness you’d be amazed at how dissimilar the setups end up being for each variationThe Wookie said:

Good points, I think now genuinely a very high majority of the grid could win a race given the right circumstances. Funnily enough a memory came up from Croft 4-5 years ago and even that short ago the strength wasn’t there.
Yeah it’s massively strong and close at the moment. Last few years there’s been few or no crap drivers, this year there’s no crap cars eitherThe Wookie said:

Hamiltons not overly competitive? I couldnt imagine him getting a podium for example as nice as it would be.
Probably pedals a car faster than most here I suspect. A500leroy said:
