2022: BTCC and support series
Discussion
Josh Cook gets lucky...again
I even gave DL an actual for today’s first win too... well deserved.
A few drivers finding their feet now... the second half of the season is going to be interesting.
( But come on ‘Tingram’... it’s got to be your year).
Support races were entertaining as well.

Or as Colin himself would say “Don’t worry, I know ‘im“
... I’m surprised that they haven’t mentioned how nasty he is to Tim Harvey.Must be trolls & not true Motorsport fans...backlash from going over to the main ITV channel.

Wishing Colin & Mike a speedy recovery....it could have been a lot worse.
It certainly was a ferocious impact Mike... ?
The way the TV crew were talking & a blue sheeted car... made me very nervous for a few hours.
My Nephew & his family choose Thruxton to be their first ever BTCC meeting.
Certainly won’t be forgotten for a while.

I was at Donington when Billy monger had his accident. The first and thankfully only time I’ve experienced such an eerie feeling at a circuit.
I remember watching that live on TV & he had onboard as well... that horrible eerie atmosphere, must be really difficult for the ITV crew to remain informative but respectful at the same time.A huge to all the Marshals, medics & Thruxton too.

It needs a formula for ‘real’ cars & with lots of variation.
No gimmicks, just pure close racing. (Goodwood style).
A class system will work just fine but will also provide entertaining racing.
Much as I love the Touring cars... they are akin to the old Special / supersaloon days.
As with Hybrid... I’m not yet convinced.
It will be interesting to hear what Tim, Paul, Richard & co have to say about it this weekend.
Paul... he will definitely miss the Juniors.

Juniors... in Legends.
Race 1: Grid randomly drawn
Race 2: Race1 grid reversed.
Race 3: Grid... Aggregate of both races.
( Lap / practice times taken into consideration to separate them if required)
So each driver would get a Front / Middle / Back start.

Doesn't matter who, you could do it with numbered balls just like they do the reverse grid selection for race 3 of BTCC, every drivers number goes in and start drawing numbers out 1st out gets pole and so on. Its not that difficult.
Option #2.Or like the FA cup draws;
Driver v Grid position...a totally random mash up.
( But you get my drift).

We’ve seen previously at Brand GP the weather can have an effect on the BMWS so if it’s nippy we could well end up with a Tingram Sutton showdown. And I think Ingram has the better car under him being honest
I would like to see Ingram grab a title, but I think that Jake has a fire in his belly... BH going to be a belter.stevemcs said:
I think Sutton will take it.
I’ve been wanting to see ‘Tingram’ win the title for quite a few years...Can’t see Turks doing it, but a bad race one for Ash, Jake or Tom...& it’s game on.
I hope that Jakes earlier lost points don’t come back to haunt him, as both him & Tom would be worthy Champions... & a new name on the trophy is always nice.
It amuses me though... when Alan Gow is asked how he manages to keep the Championship fight so close.
