Weird tv schedule today. I always record the whole meeting then skip to the bits I want. If I hadn’t noticed the regular showing was interrupted by the showing of the film Twins. I’d have missed the second BTCC race. Fortunately it’s being shown live on ITV. Seems a very bizarre move by ITV though
You would have missed the 3rd BTCC race as well. I believe they are doing it to raise the profile as some people don't venture down as far as ITV4 Smollet said:

Maybe they have seen the popularity of the BTCC meetings...but, I agree a bit bizarre.( Thought there was something special they wanted to show on ITV4)

C4: 2:30 - 5....RUGBY CUP FINAL.
( Not showing second Formula E race though)
Up against some stiff competition then.

Great to see them battling hard in such slippy horrible conditions - Jake Hill doing very well.
Shame the fantasy sponsor has now turned up in BTCc that’s one cheque that’s guaranteed to bounce - how would a team be daft enough to fall for their bullst?
I sponsor with no product no money and no idea of reality.

I came to this thread to here what the general consensus was on the channel switch overs! On the one hand i understand the desire to boost viewing figures and try and reach wider audiences, but on the other hand I guess at worse it was a bit of an inconvenience / faff switching channels, good job my free view hard drive kept up!
Anyhow, back to the racing, I’m really enjoying the electric assist and the removal of the success ballast, I guess as a side effect tyre wear is spread more evenly across the teams. Looking forward to the next round.

Fair play to ITV for trying to raise the profile, I’m sure that all the sponsors appreciated it too.
It caught a lot of fans out though...but normal service resumed for Thruxton.
Racing wise, glad the ballast & tyre choice has gone... I’m getting used to not getting too obsessed with the hybrid deployment, it’s producing some good racing & a very open season... so far.
( I think that this could be ‘Tingrams’ year... hopefully)
NB: Could you imagine the FA Cup final;
“ You can watch the extra time & conclusion of our coverage on ITV4”

The trouble I see with the ITV switch is unless they then commit to a full season of having a few hours on ITv the teams and drivers can’t sell to sponsors based on there being more viewers
I would guess the hope is it flows into higher figures on ITV4 longer term. Oulton Park is being shown on ITV as well so maybe we’ll end up with some more this season dependent on schedule.

As I understand it, from the press release, it's only going to be the 2 events this year that are split between ITV and ITV4. Last week's and Oulton.I would guess the hope is it flows into higher figures on ITV4 longer term. I wonder what the viewing figures were compared to the Woman’s FA CUP Final & Rugby that the BBC & C4 were showing at exactly the same time.
Bit of a google...
The only thing of note (that I can find), is Soccer aid in the evening. If it’s 2-5 again, it must be the warmup to that programme.
( Kickoff 7:30...so plenty of time for pre match waffle)

(Don't know what Oulton will be up against)
I think the rugby was a semi final for the Euro Championship and was also available on BT iirc so probably won’t be that indicative. (Don't know what Oulton will be up against)

50,000 for the FA Cup... so quite comparable in attendance figures.( Might have been a few conflict of interests in some households though).

Steve Ryder intro: “Paul O’Neil isn’t here today, he’s got one of the various bugs about & we told him to stay away”...
Tim Harvey: “ I think it had something to do with Liverpool & the cup last night”
( Or words to that effect)
Get well soon Paul
( Enjoyed Lydia’s commentating though).
Congratulations to Josh Cook & getting his KING OF THRUXTON crown... is there a part of the track that needs naming.
COOKS CHICANE would be appropriate
Perhaps after Jakes post race chat... ‘Ging**s’

Just got back from the BTCC.... kids got bored so missed last race. Forgot how much value you get for the money. Non stop racing, the mini rolling and a crash from the Juniors was right in front of us in the grandstand. £36 and paddock access £15
My qualifying ticket for Silverstone next month was £200
Home In time to see the end of the F1 and now Indy 500
Here’s a nice picture of the front of the 4 series you all love. In lime green !
