I would imagine the only other places might be Europe, no reason why they could not go to Assen, Zolder, Zandvoort. I would love to see them at other UK tracks, but they have outgrown them. Maybe Mondello or Anglesey, but let's face it neither are MSV spec type venues. You need huge space for paddock, hospitality etc and then a big crowd, parking etc.

It is the same with BSB, although I disagree with that decision not to go to Croft, Mondello, they will cite safety yet they go to Cadwell which is hugely unsafe for bikes, nothing to do with palmer owning the track obviously and owing BSB of course.

Gow is used to circuits paying for his wares so I can’t imagine a EU mainland circuit would take the championship on unless there is a big following for the BTCC somewhere

a street circuit in the UK would be good, but expensive although I like the idea of using an old WW2 aerodrome like the DTM used to do. But it would have to be some where where the BTCC doesn’t currently go, like Cornwall.

The championship does need to visit Wales and N Ireland. kirkistown anyone?

Any even slightly decent series is pay t host these days, so BTCC obviously would be aswell, I dont know how much it costs, probably a few tens of thousands to host, tat is nothing for a place like Zolder, Criox or the like. If you did move abroad it would be need to be close for fans, or it would fail miserably.

I think you could also do a Mondello or the like if you dropped some of the support series for the odd round too. I imagine with the current climate, one or two supports series would probably welcome less rounds, as would drivers having to find the budgets.

Saying that I doubt anyone buying rides in any motorsport is doing it with legit money really.

Not a BTCC fan at all, but oddly saw Turkington today with his young las who is starting racing autograss, never thought I would see a guy at that level padding about in a field, fair play to him, was very approachable and helping the organisers a bit!
I’m sure that Colin started on the grass... as did Andy Rouse,
I think that CT started racing in one of his cars.

You are right, having competed in autograss way back in the early 90,s back then there were no Irish clubs sanctioned with the governing body, but sadly I found out how old i was when its clear Coin raced in Ireland on grass in 1996! I do not know the club but there were only a few.

His lad got on fine, but it was just great to see a face like that among the hundreds of peopel racing, helping and driving, and a surely better way to learn than karting, and cheaper!

The one circuit that I would love to see a meeting at, but never will... Goodwood.

I can give you Andrew Jordan doing wet laps in his Civic if that helps?

I hope that Dan Lloyd will be able to return, he was having a good season. I expect that he will have to miss Croft though.. at the minimum.

Possibly a lot longer than that. He was right on the edge budget wise from what he's been saying on his YouTube channel so there's no guarantee he will have the funds to repair the car. Hopefully he and the team can put something together so he can carry on.

Injury wise it’s just bruising, car wise I’m unsure how severe it’s damaged but they’re a big team, sure it’ll be fine.

Driver still has to find the money to fund the repairs though.

BTCC - as it wasn't called then - was a hoot at Mallory Park and Birmingham , as were F3 and Tuscans at Cadwell , F1 at Oulton Park -and Mallory again . BTCC is an entertaining panto (oh yes it is ) and I will go to my local round at Croft, but like most successful series it tends to have ideas above its station and forget where it came from .

I must admit, I preferred it when they were more ‘production based’... scratchchin
( Even when they had a class system too).

Certainly a lot more diverse. Very much ahead of its time
