How can Rich Energy sponsor a team in BTCC?
Discussion
All depends on what the terms of the deal were. Ingram was winning race with Ginsters as his title sponsor but they still pulled out at the end of their agreement. Sponsorship deals in motorsport always have a contractual period. It doesn't mean something underhand is going on when they end.

Contract reasons.
If you win the title we give you an extra £1m.
Clause: We reserve the right to cancel the agreement at any time**

- we don’t actually have, nor ever will we have, any real money, so prize money, incentives and contractual obligations should be considered as likely as us paying in unicorn poo sprinkled with fairy dust.

Very odd situation, they are winning races, and yet pull out.
The team already existed before this deal but they ahve been with OMG for a few years now, yet they pull out the moment they start winning races and title challenging
Their selective media propaganda machine reported that they "pulled out" of their F1 agreements too.The team already existed before this deal but they ahve been with OMG for a few years now, yet they pull out the moment they start winning races and title challenging
Probably got dumped after not paying the bills, with their decals immediately pealed from all equipment, race machines and trucks

Something is generally not right when a title sponsors with their reputation claims to pulled out halfway through the season but are 'moving into other ventures including sports'FredericRobinson said:

Surely noone is going to give them a seconds hearing with the reputation they now have ?
You’d have thought that before though drakart said:

Indeed - what story must Storey have spun to convince teams that all his previous screwing-overs of other people was all someone else's fault? And just how gullible / desperate must people have been to believe him?
Motorsport just eats money so fast so you have teams desperate for a sponsor and will believe his bullst till the cheque bounces. What a clown Will Storey-teller is hope he comes a cropper from someone that’s fallen fowl of his bullst and make believe tales.Saw this on Ten Tenths forum earlier…
Rich Energy is just the product name, Rich Energy as a company no longer exists. The name changed to Lighting Volt Ltd, shortly before a notice of insolvency was issued.
Company behind it now is called Rich Distribution Ltd. Director of that company is Stephen Dudman, who also happens to be director of BTC Racing”

You’d have thought that before though I guess the promises clouded their judgement.
