Not even sure who half the grid are this year? Are there more up and coming drivers who've managed to get the cash together or is it rich club racers committing to spending more cash to be in touring cars for a year or 2?
I'd say a mixture of both at best.

There does seem to be a distinct lack of old, fat, company directors playing touring cars of late, seem to be quite a few fresh faces on the grid this year. Think Jake Hill might do it this year. He threw away so many points last year, he will have that year experience of challenging for the title under his belt and if he's calmed down a bit should be very strong. If they've got the Ford Focus working a bit better Dan Cam and Sutton should be very strong and surely Cammish got rid of all his bad luck last year.

Hill or Sutton or Ingram, those three have to be the favourites.

How that will the Hybrid fare in year 2?
It seems that Hybrid hasn’t been well received... by the drivers & fans.

I'm just watching the Goodwood Members meeting on Youtube, most of the BTCC drivers are in the Jim Clarke Trophy in Cortinas. They are much better to watch

Brilliant... it just shows that you don’t need hundreds of horsepower & technology at your fingertips to have an exciting race.
They really need to bring back the Juniors... that was the biggest loss.

The irritation I found was that the lights on the cars showing when it was being deployed, were all but impossible to see when the cars were shown on TV.

I get that it is largely a ploy to see if manufactures could be enticed due to the perceived green credentials, but its unnecessary weight / complexity and cost which largely adds nothing to the series.

They did try to show hybrid status on the TV graphics but if my memory serves me right, it was a bit unreliable and difficult to understand.

Given how clever modern LED headlights can be, I don't see why they couldn't make the headlights flash blue when the hybrid is being deployed.

Or a teardrop style blue light on the roof, which would be clearly visible even when they are overtaking.

Don't set your sat-nav to "Donnington" as that's in Berkshire.

Will be there on Sunday with Laser tools, looking forward to it,
Donnington gp round is going to be good, much prefer driving the gp , think that should give a couple extras overtaking opportunities

Lol only in my dreams,

I meant when I do track days Donnington gp layout is more interesting to drive and should provide more overtaking opportunities ( no I don’t overtake in braking zones on TD’s) as there are two extra Heavy breaking zones where multiple lines could be taken as the track is quite wide, also to note the bump just at the start of the braking zone for Godard’s is vastly reduced with the new tarmac/asphalt that was layed during the off season
(Forgot the assassin mentality of forums was still prevalent)
