Quick Vic was of course awesome, but nowhere near as successful as Ickx in F1 or sportscars overall
Vic's book is well worth a read if you can find a copy. What a bloke.

Might seem a touch predictable, but Alex Palou for now. I’m way past the age where I’d expect F1 to contain the best 20 drivers, but Palou has won in most things he’s sat in and is likely destined for some sort of F1 seat next year.

Outside of open-wheelers, I’d say someone like Buemi’s been overlooked for a while, and although it’s not going amazing for him at the moment, Kevin Estre’s long deserved his prototype promotion.

I think gone are the days where you’d get a tin-top champion thought of well enough that he’d bag an F1 test; Priaulx must have been the last to do that. Id love there to be a bit more openness as to switching between series - remember Taquini, Morbidelli etc being in F1 one year and the BTCC the next?!

Meandering further off-topic, but I like Roberto Mehri as a bit of a throwback who just doesn’t seem to want a weekend off and will race anything, S5000s in Oz, Super GT, Formula E…

Now confirmed that SVG is leaving Supercars at the end of the season. I don’t think they’ve confirmed he is going NASCAR though.

It's confirmed he'll be driving in the Craftman trucks, so he can learn his craft on the ovals.
