Trying to man maths my way to Spa next weekend.
I can justify fuel and ferry, just not the insane accommodation costs.
I'm really tempted after watching WEC on TV for the first time at the weekend.I can justify fuel and ferry, just not the insane accommodation costs.
However taking my RX-8 all the way from Inverness is going to be costly.
Ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam is £731 return, and hull to Rotterdam is £440 return.
I might check flights from Inverness to Schiphol and hire a car.
I'd be camping if i am going.
Edit to add - flights Inverness to Schiphol are £331 return.
Its times like this I'm envious of how easy and cheap it is to get to continental Europe from the south of England.

To be fair mate if i knew you you could come down here, and go from here, I am Oxford, so not far, but still along way!
Camping at Spa! Brave lad, but you are a Scot, so used to it
It did snow last time I camped at Spa for the WEC, woke up to 3 or 4 inches, was glad to be in a van not a tent!Camping at Spa! Brave lad, but you are a Scot, so used to it
Forecast looks better this time though.

Travel stuff
Also consider flying to Brussels or Liege, both pretty close. A slightly more of-the-wall option would be Cologne, only about an hour and a half away (my route). Can’t wait for this, haven’t missed Spa (pandemic permitting) for the last ten years Edited by alisdairm on Wednesday 19th April 12:16

Stayed here a dozen times for trackdays.
Decent prices, excellent food, and the owner Edgard is a lovely bloke
Nice 15 minute drive to the circuit

Ooh!
Now that is better.
How about 2 free tickets, would that help? Now that is better.
I've got a pair of 3 day passes available
Was due to go, but unfortunately I've ended up with some family stuff I cannot get out of
Would rather someone got some use out of them than go to waste

Dammit! I'd loved to have taken you up on that. And not for a freebie either. But since deciding that I can't make the man maths add up with LM24 and the Classic, the lovely wife has organised a weekend away next weekend now.
If only I'd known a week ago, I could have worked something out.
Thanks so much for the kind thought though.

Going to this, and could do with some parking and grandstand advice as information on official site is limited.
Have paid €35 for parking, and this says Coombs. But I’m now not sure that this should have said camping ?
I would like to be closer to the start straight as one of our party has a heart condition condition, and the walk from Coombs is a bit if a way.
Also grandstands. There is nothing about them. Are they open, and is there a charge on the day?
Any advice to make our trip a better one would be greatly appreciated.
