Be warned kids

You HAVE to download a bloody app now for e-tickets to Dumperstone.

Quite why you cannot do it the old way and have your ticket on your phone from an email I don't know, but this is ow the ONLY way you can access the place.

Mod edit of title from ‘dumperstone!

Really? I was there two weeks ago and they scanned the email on my phone. Mad that they’d change it during the season, not beforehand.

It works OK, but I do not think you can get the tickets sent to email now, you HAVE to use the app.

Lots of building work going on near the old Complex, no idea what can't make it out, Escapade still looks nowhere near finished. And they still feel the need to blank off areas for no apparent reason and herd you into routes, but a pleasant day in the sun watching bikes.

But yes the app is now it appears the only way you can attend unless perhaps you pay cash on the gate. They even have some announcer on repeat in the car park telling you.

Same old, same old. Thought there was a dark cloud over the neighbourhood today. Now I know why.
Anyway, karting circuit going in “near the old Complex”. 44 out of 60 lodges at Escapade already sold so phase two has been merged into phase one to get them all built. The spectator access in front of Escapade is closed off at the moment while the steel beams for the front row of lodges are stacked there.
I must get out more…..

Been there three times so far this year. Twice as a competitor and once as a mechanic. All times the tickets were emailed. Maybe the app is just for spectators?

Once as a club guest, once as punter - emailed. I don't especially like Silverstone as it has had a temporary feel since I first went there -and that was 1971 . It felt like a pop up circuit on someone's farm - which it sort of was for the first 40 years of its life - and now it feels like a distribution centre hub . The circuit offers the worst spectating of any circuit I've ever been to in UK and Europe. And yet ,and yet - important things have happened there and I've been lucky enough to see it first hand , from Mansell jumping Piquet at Stowe to Hunt's first F1 win , Rosberg's 161 mph pole. huge FF1600 battles, and more recently watching the jawdropping pace of Verstappen and Norris through Copse .And Classic which I hugely enjoy .

It could be better, it should be better , its customer care isn't a patch on MSV and Goodwood , Cadwell, Brands and Oulton are far better to spectate at but, well, it's still Silverstone isn't it ?

I went to the CSCC season opening race weekend last month and my ticket was emailed to me but today 3 of my family went to the BSB and they had to download the App.
Re Silverstone in general, it’s my local track, I’ve raced and spectated many times and would love to champion it but every time I go I have reason to be disappointed/annoyed.
I will continue to race there as I do like the International and GP layouts but, IMHO I think MSV do a far superior job of looking after and making both spectators and, from my point of view, competitors feel welcome and valued.

New grandstand behind the terrace at Luffield by the looks of it, additional seating or moved from elsewhere?

I know I've jumped on the bandwagon when really this thread is about the use of a phone app for tickets (which many other sporting events do these days) but... I gave up with Silverstone years ago. As a competitor, mechanic, marshall, official or VIP I am sure it's fabulous but for the ticket buying punter it's grim.

I only go for something which I can’t get anywhere else in this country, so used to go for WEC and the SRO endurance race, have given up on MotoGP as too expensive so don’t expect to go to Silverstone at all this season, it’s just an unpleasant place for the ordinary punter, Donington yesterday for the historics was excellent on the other hand, give me an MSV track any day.

Probably not, but it’s more than a 3 day BSB ticket at a much better viewing track, and only got so much money to go round

Unless like my father who is 70 and never had a smart phone in his life and wouldn’t even know what an app is.

Loves to go and watch motorsport.

I’m surprised this is allowed. Is there an option to have tickets posted to you. That’s what he’s always done. Or got me to book them online using my email address and then print out the e ticket for him. Im not giving him my phone so he can get a ticket to watch an even. He wouldn’t even know how to unlock it anyway. Let alone navigate to an app and open it.
