What's worse? A car that is a minute slower on a lap that size or a car that is 15 seconds slower on a 1 minute lap? Racing all over the world, every weekend, there are races with huge differences in lap times and they manage just fine.
It's the closing speed which is the issue. A lot of the corners at the ring are blind even without other cars blocking your vision, and the speed difference in those can be massive.

The ring is nothing like a modern conventional circuit with clear sight lines.

You will always have those kind of shuts at the ring, having such a low performance car out there does increase the risk.

To the GT3 cars, that Dacia was four minutes slower on an eight minute lap. They lapped it every three laps of their own, against two laps for the Dacia.

The biggest issue was that it was just the one car. The Manta was running 10 minute laps, in the same class. If there were a couple of dozen 12m cars, then the GT3s would have needed to be a lot more cautious all the time.

The 24h Nürburgring will take place on the weekend of Corpus Christi in 2024 (30 May to 2 June). This was announced today by the organising ADAC Nordrhein. The rescheduling had become necessary because a round of the FIA WEC in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, had been scheduled at short notice for the Ascension weekend at the beginning of May, which had already been planned for years.
