Ooh, thanks for that!Lovely day at the home of hillclimbing, no filler here, nearly everything was bat fast.
Perfect weather, not too hot, track was a bit dusty, but that did not slow anyone down.
The commitment of the top guys is staggering, 140 up the hill to the Esses, then touching 165 over the line, it really is staggering.
Wallace is pure class as usual, but some really nice cars coming through, Moran seems to have found a ton of form, Willis unlucky as was Nicola who is getting close to the ladies record only a couple of seconds off the guys, and some other great drives in the classes.
Another thing and something for other venues to learn, the food in the restaurant was very well priced, no more than you would pay in a pub, so much so that I will go back there, it's not hard is it?
And what that kind of thing happens, you know what else, I could have bought an advanced ticket yesterday, but preferred to give the club an extra few quid by paying on the day. Tis is what treating punters with a bit of respect, not treating them like a nuisance does, are you listening other venues?

I was there today also, really enjoyed watching the first run off from the top ess. Funnily enough I was chatting to a guy up there who also said about paying on the door rather than getting an advanced ticket to give the club some extra cash. Was that you? Perfect weather, not too hot, track was a bit dusty, but that did not slow anyone down.

Was blissfully unaware of Harewood being on this weekend! Thanks for the notice, will have to go along as just spotted a friend's name on the entry list I haven't seen for a few years
And Saturday too...bumskins said:
Yeah cheers ended up going on the Saturday, lovely day for it! Shame about the various stoppages/recoveries.
Unfortunately, with vintage cars we do tend to get a few more stoppages.Yes it was a lovely day. Did you see the kite flying (gliding) over the paddock? Can't believe how low it was.

I’m off to Shelsley next Sunday, and it’s been a good few years since my last visit. Does anyone know what time the action starts on the Sunday? Would assume early doors so 830-900, bit can’t find it online anywhere.
practice starts at 09:00 both days.https://www.shelsleywalsh.com/events-1/championshi...

Interesting. Gurston doesn't exactly scream excitement on paper nor on YT. Not twisty enough and if I wanted to see cars thundering in a straight line I'd go to Santa Pod. I will give it a try when I move back down South.
It is probably best appreciated as a driver rather than spectator. It does look rather boring on paper and onboard videos. Different kettle of fish when you are actually driving it. I did the school day there last year was expecting it to be a bit boring but loved it. I was in a reasonably nippy road car and the first corner and braking for the technical section were quite butt clenching. Was crossing the finish at about 100mph. Must feel mental in a top end car!Though appreciate what a later poster said comparing it to other hillclimbs. I have done Prescott now too as a driving event rather than the school and liked it so much have booked 2 more there, bit more local to me too. Prescott has less jeopardy from speed but far higher risk of a bump, in a car with a bit of a weak front end that last corner is puckering.
