Well I'm glad IMSA have told us why, even though everyone watching knew it was an error at the time

I could see it in an amateur event with volunteers, but this really shouldn't be happening in top level Motorsport, its not that difficult to look at the countdown and work it out
Fortunately it had no impact on the result, the Cadillac never really got a shot at passing the 7 for the whole of the final stint
Whoops, but a human error and at least they’re honest about it. The same thing has happened more than once in F1 in recent years too, the chequered flag waved a lap early at the lead driver followed by some confusion. https://www.motorsportweek.com/2024/01/29/imsa-con...

Dinamic GT has announced that it has parted ways with Ford effectively immediately.
“Today, we have to share news we never wished to deliver. In recent times, your warmth and closeness on this page have been incredible. Unfortunately, for reasons we prefer not to delve into, our relationship with Ford has abruptly ended.
“The Dinamic GT team has worked tirelessly over the past few months on this collaboration, and we never stopped believing in this project. We announce that we will not be racing with Ford this season.
“But Dinamic GT doesn’t stop here; we will take a couple of days to reflect, but we can assure you that we will come back stronger than before. Because opportunities arise from crises, and giving up is not in our nature…
“We will return… and we will do so soon.”
All mentions of the Ford program prior to todays announcement have been removed from their Instagram account too.

This team were running customer Mustangs and the Ford team is Multimatic, not Proton, they are also running a customer entry aswell as the 963 and many other things
As far as I am aware Dinamic weren't even running them yet. The videos I have seen of a Mustang with their stickers on was the Proton/Ford Test car and a number of the mechanics were wearing Proton clothing.Like virtually every other race team - F1, WEC , BTCC and WRC , the livery looks as if it was designed by Stevie Wonder .
I'd prescribe them an intensive course of study involving Martini and Parmalat sponsored Brabhams, an early JPS Lotus , a 7 Up Jordan , the Penske T70 and any one of a number of Marlboro cars. I do like the Red Bull livery though .

Manthey Porsche dominated the Bathurst 12 hours, after the first hour
Leading in all conditions and overcoming a double drive through penalty
Some of the invitational cars really shouldn't be in a race at that level, causing nearly every yellow/safety car throughout the event
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a race with more penalties for pit stop and safety car infringements, wasn’t just that the teams seemed not to have read the rules they didn’t learn anything from their competitors being punished.Leading in all conditions and overcoming a double drive through penalty

Yes lots of silly ones, weaving under the safety car once lights out etc, Manthey talking their penalty under the safety car, so having to repeat etcListening to Laurens Vanthoors podcast review of the race
The initial Manthey penalty was interesting, they pitted for a tyre change, but no fuel, so were not constricted by the 85 second minimum, but if you do that you cant change drivers, which they did
Also that LV was unwell so only drove the single at the start and one other stint

Some of the drive throughs were for breaching the 32 lap maximum stint length (caught numerous front running GT3 teams out). The weaving penalty for Ross Gunn was a stupid mistake to make because it isn't a new rule and has been used for numerous years at this race.Listening to Laurens Vanthoors podcast review of the race

It would have been interesting to see how things would have been if they didn't have minimum pit stop times. Manthey are known for fast pit stops and they jumped everyone in the pits when they pitted for wets (during that rain shower when the STM Merc was trying to survive on slicks).
I was surprised the Merc didn't get a penalty for putting Shahin's Porsche in the gravel either early in the race.
