I am so looking forwards to this, I hope it lives up to expectations. Fantastic to see Nige back, equally so the legend of Murray. Takes me back to watching it when I was a kid, absolute hats off to whoever set it all up, and got Murray in the box.

Top stuff.

Prost isn't doing the South African race as he's in preperations for the Andros Trophy (ice racing)

Apparently he may appear in a subsequent round if this race is a success.

I cannot Wight to see Grand Prix Masters in action. And it will be fantastic to see Mansell in action and too hear Murray voice going full belt with the commentating. It going to bring back some strong memories. I was introduced into the world of motor-sport with these people like so many other. Its going to be sweet.

I wish Mario Andretti would get in on this.

Sure hoping that 2.5g isn't a bit much for these guys...

Being an Aussie, I'd like to see Jones have a crack at this. IF he could fit in the car, that is...

I am looking forward to this series, but am astounded by all those who are pleased to see that whinging git Mansell's return.

I was always used to get pissed off listening to him complain about his car after he won a race, I used to hope one of his hard working crew would tt him one.

Still looking forward to it though, just hope he doesn't win

I remember in Mansell's Williams days going to the old factory in Didcot in my RS which had developed a "whine" from the rear end. I mentioned it to one of the mechanics, and a whole bunch of them started looking in the boot (rather than underneath as I would). I asked why they were looking in the boot - they suggested that Mansell may have been in there !!

Despite the fact that he has been reported as difficult to work with, people who are that driven (no pun intended) seek perfection in their own performance and everyone around them. IMHO I felt that he was always able to admit his mistakes, and on that basis could be allowed to grumble when things weren't quite right elsewhere. He also gave us some great, competitive entertainment in days when F1 had a number of competitive drivers at the top, rather than the one or two at the top and the also rans of today. As has been said though, it never ceased to amaze me when he used to whinge on about a long brake pedal or something similar from the top step of the podium !

Anyway, good luck to the old guys. I am sure that they'll give us some fun and will get more and more competitive as the series develops. Keep it on the black bit, shiny side up. Never mind 2.5g in normal racing, it's a lot more when they stop quickly against something hard.

So what if he had a habit of "moaning".

He was a pleasure to watch in a car, and his moaning quite probably kept the team on their toes as any team boss will listen to his driver then stomp on the techies if things aren't right.

I doubt if many current F1 fans would turn down the chance to swap Mansell and the drivers of his era for the largely personality-free processions we suffer these days.

we are all supporting mansell as it takes us back to our 'yoof' when racing was better and we were young enough to have heros.

i hate to think how piss poor gp racing has to become in the future for us to hark back to today's racing.
