With no women on the grid in Bahrain just wondered when we will see a female F1 Champion ?

Out of the following which one do you think will be F1 World Champion first ?

Katherine Legge
Susie Stoddart
Ruth Senior
Sarah Playfair
Pippa Mann
Jodi Hemming

none of them!...they'd all have to be in F1 now to have a chance, they like to get them very young these days.

none of them.

danica patrick seems to be doing pretty well over the water, so i'd say her.

Rather inclined to agree Jodie is a very talented driver.

None of them - I'd be amazed if any of them even make it to F1. Danica Patrick has done well for herself in the IRL but I haven't seen any of the current crop of female racers who have the quality to make it in F1

Jodie is racing an ex-F1 Jordan in Euroboss this year at Brands. In testing she reckons it's awesome!

What about the girl who kept her license because she told the judge she was going to be F1 world champion!

Never, for the same reason as we'll never see the top female sprinters beat the top male sprinters.

Not so sure about that, as the current crop of drivers seem to be built more like jockeys, or girls for that matter, having come up through karts. There is no longer the need for great physical strength in F1, nor room in the cars for normal sized males. I don't think we will ever see the likes of a Gurney, Patrese or Mansell again.

With the power assisted steering and the electronic aids, I see no reason that a talented and reasonably athletic woman couldn't do the job.

There just aren't enough females in motor sport. Their numbers are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of male participants.

I have no problem with the fact that talented women drivers can be as good as any male - in rallying they have proved their capabilities on many occasions. However, not enough girls follow through with their motor sport careers so that, by the time F1 is achieveable, there are far too few left.

You need a certain amount of testoterone and feeling through the arse, and a good sense of direction as well....

Missing the point a bit here - It's not that they require immense physical strength to manipulate the controls - is it not the case that an F1 car will subject the driver to immense forces sustained for the race duration? I would reckon the hardest part is not only coping with this but the amount of effort required to still be mentally sharp towards the end of a 2 hour race.

Not being sexist but the female body is not built as well as the male for dealing with this, some of the F1 drivers must be amoungst the fittest people on the planet but at the end of a race even some of them can no longer support the weight of their own head as their neck has given up. I remember Hakkinen pressing his head against the side of the cockpit so he could still look where he was going.
