Any Porsche PH's going along on Saturday? Thought I would take my son along as Porsche's are right up there with Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine and was wondering how close you can get to the cars between races?

Getting up close to the cars would be a bit of a thrill for him, possibly more so than the racing. not that I would enjoy having a bit of a nosey round as well

Chris, most teams operate an 'open garage' just ask if you and your son can have a close look at the cars, obviously not the final few minutes before the race, but the rest of the time shouldn't be a problem.

Look out for Henry F in the 911virgin.com GT3. Friendly chap and a damn good racer too! Sadly I can't make this Saturday's opening round so I'm looking forward to Oulton Park in a couple of weeks.

Out of curiosity, anyone else going down this Sat?

If your lad wants to sit in a proper British sportscar then he is more than welcome to pop into Jemco Racing's Garage (12D) for a look round at our Marcos Mantis. Ask for Andy.

Make sure he doesn`t get any fibreglass splinters or put his feet through the chipboard floor though. Actually I might be talking slightly out of turn, I think the floors are plywood now

You Marcos boys have been saved by the bell then re: dyno & weights !! We were wondering how to shed a couple of hundred kilos for the weekend - and no-one say easy just get the driver to step out of the car !!!!

Looking forward to getting back in the hot seat.

Ha, Ha...hopefully he's a small lad so will not cause too much damage !

We have actually been fattening up our drivers in anticipation...oh well !

Best wishes for a great EERC season from everyone at Jemco.

Thanks Andy, We'll definitely pop in. If you are looking to loose weight I'm sure the wee lad would be quite happy to drive for you. Although, judging by the state of most of his toy cars I wouldn't expect it to have any wheels on it when he hands it back.

That I'm afraid happens....you only have to ask our "friend" Henry who gave us this unofficial award at the end of season dinner.....

"Earliest collision with a hard object - Leigh Smart, Marcos (pit wall leaving pits to form up on grid - Brands)"

But as Henry points out...fibreglass is easy to fix !!

now that is impressive. mind you we have managed a car on car TVR incedent even before scrutineering.. Whilst unloading one chaps car rolled off the trailer and straight into another one inthe paddock!!!

But as you say GRP is an easy fix

I'm seriously thinking of heading along myself (by myself unfortunately) so if you see a loner with a blue TVR Chim that'll be me.
Andy - any objections if I pop by and say hello as well?

Andy - thanks for letting us in out of the wind. Awesome car, Angus was thrilled to bits about getting to sit in it. We were able to stick around for a few laps of the Britcar race if you carried on overtaking at that pace you would have done alright.

Henry - another great looking car. We stuck are head round your garage door a couple of times to say high but you wern't about. Next time.

Top day out although it could have been a tad warmer. Angus is well and truely converted. I suspect he'll be dragging me along again.

Loads of fantastic road cars kicking around as well. [Andylittlebritain]i want that one[/andylittlebritain]

Quite fancy a Marcos now.

Yes that would have been me - thanks!! Rooster popped over as well, so if you saw it parked up with a red chim then that would have been hers!
Shame I didn' get to meet anyone - spent most of the britcar race sheltering in the car due to the rain!

Zippee - Saw your chim with it's PH smilie, very nice. Think your departure was slightly more dignified than ours - found we had a flat battery after watching the racing from in the car and couldn't bump start so had to call out the "fourt emergecy service"

Does anyone know where I can find a race report for the Britsports??
I was racing the number 2 PRC-BMW. We were running 3rd overall until I lost 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear ten minutes before the end of the race!

Were you the one that coasted into the pit lane just before the chequered flag?
I was watching from just before that last corner and saw you konk out - felt gutted for you!
