Did Schu just pull a black cable out of his race suit?

Noticed that too - I think Massa did the same. Wonder if thats for the comms etc??

Also heard James Allen say that you could get an infield ticket and walk all the way round for £35 - sounds like a bargain to me SILVERSTONE ARE YOU LISTENING!!!!!!!

Oh, can we have a whip-round and get Jacques Villeneuve some race overalls that actually fit...

Yeah, the baggy-arsed hobbit.

May I remind you that the member for Quebec is actually a bit of a grunge boy, therefore his attire is actually "fitting". Sadly, I'm afraid that his paymasters have stopped him from wearing a VW badge beastie boys styleee on a chain around his neck.

As he refuses to conform to the PR norm, would he not therefore fit the bill for a run in Red Bull colours at some point?

Other than that, the race: advantage Bridgestone me thinks.

I wager that the next race will return to Michelin dominance.

Nice and hot at Brands today too....

Power supply for a cooling jacket? I noticed Coulthard was wearing a cooling jacket in Canada during the pit walkabout interview with Brundle, so maybe the Ferrari boys were also using them - air temperature of 36 degC is bloodyhot after all.

Few choice quotes from post-race. On the first corner accident that ruined Raikonnen, Button, Heidfeld and Montoya's race.

Ron Dennis - "We have looked at our data and the footage from various cameras and it's clear that as is often the case with accidents several things happened in close sequence. Heidfeld heavily squeezed Button, who squeezed Juan Pablo. Prior to those cars touching Juan Pablo ran into the back of Kimi who was making very effort to keep out of trouble."

David Coulthard - "Firstly, a special thanks to Montoya for his contribution to my points finish! "

That first corner shunt should have been a red flag i recon. Cant see the F1 circus going to Indy next year, Brundle mentioned the fans were out in there droves but to me the stands look half empty! Shame as i quite like the Indy circuit.

Supposedly the largest crowd at an F1 race this year (according to speed tv) Indy has a huge spectator area.

The place was absolutely packed. Bear in mind Indy can seat 400,000 people, so it will often look empty, but there were well over 100,000 people there. In fact, Indy probably sells more tickets than any other F1 race on the calendar. And I don't know what you're talking about - all the teams love coming to the US GP. IMO it's also the best fan experience by far. You get much more access to the teams and drivers than you do at any other track.

The race itself was pretty boring, and so bloddy hot this year, but all in all a fun weekend out. Saw a bunch of drivers on Thursday when Speed TV filmed their pre-race show, and got a bunch of them to sign my program, which was supercool. I've got pics up at Flickr - www.flickr.com/photos/drjonboyg/sets/72157594181821873/

Not finished uploading them yet, but some are up.

I agree. James Allen was in the throws of ecstasy by the sound of it after the race, banging on about how F1 was back in the USA and had put on an "incredible show" and a "great race." I thought it was pretty dull.

Allen's hyperbole is nauseating.

That, more than anything else is really what triggers so much negative reaction to his commentary style. We are sitting in front of our TV sets painfully aware of how dull and boring the whole charade is. Yet he is describing that very same event as "fantastic" and "exciting" and "mega" .

In other words, he is implying that our own eyes are deceiving us but that we must be obviously too dumb to realise it.
