I'm not sorry to see the back of Angus Scott. On his first appearance on the WRC programme, he interviewed an F1 driver and constantly plugged F1 during the WRC coverage. The reason you have POV voiceovers on WRC is because ITV is saving money. It's better than nowt I suppose.

Lets see...

ITV take over F1 coverage...and 'the cock' appears and has never left. Plus adverts in the middle of it all.

ITV takes over BTCC coverage and only show 1 race live, plus their presenters have an appaling bias towards Plato (probably the dirtiest driver in the series, and there's a LOT of competition).

ITV takes over WRC and shows a single 1-hr programme, with adverts, with lots of pointless 'behind the scenes' and 'studio commentary', so we get about 20mins of actual rallying on-screen.

Does anyone else think the ITV bosses have it in for motorsport? Buy it all up then spoil the coverage so people lose interest!

Eurosport also do coverage - 3x 30min programmes, one each evening and repeated the following morning. Better than the ITV coverage (usually Sunday afternoon), although at weird times...set the video or the Sky+!

But the real problem is the WRC itself, it's deeply in the doldrums with very little manufacturer support and even less competition right now. Rows over cost cutting rules have hardly aided its cause and even with the best programming and production, I doubt ITV would pick up many viewers right now.

I have an idea for how to improve the sorry state of the WRC atm. Now we have much better safety, why not bring back Group B? WRC was much more interesting, as manufacturers wanted to out-do each other all the time, it was fanatstic, unfortunately im a mere 18 year old, so was born just after group b's death weeping
