I was shocked to read in today's Autosport that Ferrari have approached Williams behind the scenes to see if they can obtain the services of Rosberg to replace Kimi at Ferrari. The piece goes on to say that Ferrari would be happy to pay Kimi's salary at Williams eek

Given that Kimi is the highest paid driver currently in F1, and that the majority of the 'scoops' that Autosport print turn out to be correct, what kind of message does this give Kimi when he reads this weeks edition! rage

I personally have never rated Kimi to be honest, yes he is fast, but he is not a team player and will never change that aspect which everyone who has ever worked with him tends to reinforce.

It is certainly an interesting thought, but why Rosberg? Is there no one else on the grid with whom Ferrari could do a deal with, or is that no other team wants Kimi to drive for them?

That's incredible news!! eekeek

I think he will be out by the end of the year but to where?? My favourite would be Renault, Toyota or possibly Red Bull as all of them could afford him and they need a 'superstar'. But how badly has his currency been devalued this year? Maybe Williams is all he can get but I think for next year it depends on who owns up in control of Torro Rosso. Maybe Ferrari will ship him out to Berger with the plans for next years car?

sounds odd...

Are williams using Ferrari engines? I think Torro Rosso are arent they? You would think any inside dealings would be with a customer team rather than some random?

At Ferrari this year the problem is the car, not the driver.

My second comment. Rosberg/Todt/Brawn would make a good team.

Yes - He can go back to his preffered errr sports of snorting Vodka and enjoying lapdancing.

He is the most overpaid/rated driver in F1 today.

And he needs to cheer up a bit too... hehe

Yep, cars are just about everything. And because everything else has been made a level playing field it means aero is everything

If that turns out to be true, than Ferrari can kiss the world championship goodbye for this year (and probably next)

Surely that has to be a nonsense rumour? Whose column did it appear in? Rosberg hasn't proved that he can hold down a championship challenge, Raikonen finished runner up in 2005. Rosberg has a season and a half's experience, running at the front of the midfield, Raikkonen has 6 years' experience, a reasonable chunk of which has been at the sharp end. Rosberg is nearer Massa than Raikkonen....Surely they'd be looking to put Schumacher back in the car if they really wanted Raikkonen out?

yeah but i can't see liuzzi or speed going to ferrari!!

i really rate rosberg, i think he's massively improved from last year and is one of the unsung stars of this year. in a decent car i reckon he'd be very good. however, you are unlikely to see ferrari fielding two such inexperienced (relatively) drivers i reckon.

Autosport are running this as their leading story today, as mentioned in my OP.

Both Ferrari and Williams have publically confirmed that no communication has taken place, which in F1 circles means they are talking behind closed doors smile

Oh, I don't know, he's making a back-to-back world champion sit up and beg and at the minute, he can't be THAT bad...

Here's a little snippet that might give this a little more credeance. Guess who Rosberg's agent is? Would it be Nicolas Todt?

And whose son might he be? scratchchin

Exactly, and that's a good thing going on Massa's current performance.

Perhaps Kimi should have listened to Shumacher as opposed to turning his nose up. It certainly didn't hurt Massa to listen to the men who turned Ferrari into a creditable team for some help...

Prediction, based on industry contacts.

Raikkonen out. Schumacher back in the car and playing catchup to the rookie Tiger Woods-a-like.

You heard it here first.

No chance, he was fastest in the last race and fast @ Silverstone testing. Few more races and he'll be there, KR and FA have just switched teams and tires, give them time and both will be the fastest, come back to this post in 6 races and if I'm wrong I'll let you have a free drive in a Single Seater LOL ;-)
