Is there any kind of upper Power limit for the series?

Are we saying people are raving with more power than the class limits allow - in class (I am truely shocked).
Believe there was a thread not long ago where an implication was made that some turbo cars have an excessively fat mid range, or something like that giving them an advantage ?[/quote]Believe there was a thread not long ago where an implication was made that some turbo cars have an excessively fat mid range, or something like that giving them an advantage ?

Now your really having a laugh. I only know of 2 turbo cars that have raced this year, mine and KGs and apart from the first meeting at Oulton mine has been completely outgunned by "standard" 5 ltr RV8s. To the best of my knowledge my power, as declared on PH at the start of the season was 330bhp at the wheels, well within the 350 class limit. Some idiot who shall remain nameless was going on about chips and ecu's producing over 500 bhp in a 2ltr cossie. It can be done I'm sure but you can also produce an RV8 with throttle bodies, an ecu and chip and come up with well over 400 so lets please not start speculating about turbo cars. There are class B cars running to within a second or so of the Tuscans but I don't hear any beef about that.
Please leave the turbo cars alone. They have done no harm to anyone.
Now a de-tuned supercharged 5ltr RV8 is another matter................
Come on Tim everyone knows that both of us have managed to build cars with well over 600bhp, neither of us can drive and that people only get beaten by cars with more power
edited to say where did "Standard 5ltr" engines come from? first I've heard of them and ours is anything but standard... ok its a standard griff 500 crank, rods, pistons but they've been worked on

If the rules are bhp limited it makes sense to gain torque/grunt with turbos, it's a good solution. As for ultimate power then capacity in the first place is a huge advantage so 427 ci is a great start. A 5.7 won't hack it unless you want to use extra revs which increases unreliability. Sort out a few issues with a 427 and then stick in 15 psi of boost. Whatever you choose lsx wise the hard bit is always heat management especially over 20 minutes or so.
