If the rules are bhp limited it makes sense to gain torque/grunt with turbos, it's a good solution. As for ultimate power then capacity in the first place is a huge advantage so 427 ci is a great start. A 5.7 won't hack it unless you want to use extra revs which increases unreliability. Sort out a few issues with a 427 and then stick in 15 psi of boost. Whatever you choose lsx wise the hard bit is always heat management especially over 20 minutes or so.

It will be interesting to see how the LSx engined Sagaris does in the Britcar 24 hours

Which one is this and when is it? Is it Tims or somebody else? If it's an atmo engine being run properly and sorted it should be reliable. They seem to have established a pretty good racing pedigree thus far.

Not one of Tim's car this ones built by Dennis Leech at Racesport.

The best i could get as an engine descriptions was "Corvette" and im thinking one particular very exclusive batch of corvettes hehe

Apparently this cars been in build for two years and certainly looked impressive in its shake down form... Still plenty of hardning to do for a 24hr run but a great start..

Andy Race has a few more details here

Thanks, looks like they went with the ls7. Wonder what management they chose.

Whoa - 165mph 1/3 of the way down the straight (not totally convinced that can be right though), as the Silverstone straight is fairly short.

Mega Car = presume this is for teh Britcar thing and not the Tuscan Challenge?

Well 165mph was max revs for the gearing they had in the car, and they were having to lift to avoid over reving it.... before the gantry and 4 other places on the international circuit...

Judging by the size of the Grin on Richard Stantons face I'd say it was true....

I could certainly believe the speeds, obviously final drive has a big effect. The Ls7 is a very good engine but I was always worried about a couple of things as far as retro installs are concerned. That said things are becoming simpler for diy.

hi. as for whether or not it is for the challenge i will be running a ls7 for next year + 6 speed sequential
in car 23 and a 9 inch diff, what we wanted to run this year but time restraints prevented us from installing the drive train. we will however help everybody where we can if they wish to up grade over the winter, good luck to racesport in the 24 hr

from the little they would give away the only words mentioned were "Pratt and miller" so I think they had the inside track on the motor... the gearbox was also a rear mounted sequential transaxle and the thing was dripping so much money they had to stop me lying under it to try and catch some.... so i think the words DIY dont really come into into it.. the pics show a fairly basic induction which i understand is only the first fix to get it running and even then the numbers 1 6 and 4 ( please rearrange in your preferred order) were mentioned in terms of power (so far).

although in terms of overall looks its a similar car in detail it looked quite different. The basic chassis and suspension pickup points looked familiar, but the wishbones were well modified and the uprights had spent a looooong time in a cnc machine :-)

Surely this will just Kill the Tuscan championship.

i.e. no LS7 no chance of being at the front (and yes from me the LS lover). I'd have been tempted to do some in my Griff when finished but biggered if I'd race it mid rid!

The 600bhp+ Cerb I was thinking of runningwink might struggle against an atmo car whith the same power!
