Are any of you lot going down regardless of whether you won the competition or not? Thinking of making an appearance.

Also remember you don't have to be a competition winner to come along to the Team RPM Fan Forum on Sunday morning at 9:30 in the team awning in the main paddock. It's open to all PH forum members and you could win a pair of grid walk passes if you ask a good question.

No need to slag them off. Why would they contact the losers too?

Me? No I don't.
I went to the Brands Hatch PH fan forum but if a ticket turned up in my mail box I'd go to Thruxton smile

Haven't got a ticket yet but if there are empty seats at LMES then I reckon BGT should be a piece of p155 to get into. Plus I want to check the form of those taking part in the Britcar 24 and it's practically on my doorstep so I may as well slip down there.

Are you going to Britcar on the 8-9 September? I need to make sure my car is safe to drive if I go this weekend

Yes I'll either be pitbitching or just swilling lager in one of the boxes next to brdc. Or both! How about you?

Not sure about swinging the lager, and either one of the boxes! but I am planning to go on the 9th - which day do you think is best to attend

Every stage of the race has its charms.

Kick off is a bit of an anti climax though it is impressive to see them head down the finishing straight together. You sometimes find a strong challenger coming unstuck in the early hours e.g. Duller in 05, and Rollcentre last year.

Into the darkness is quite impressive. People will have found their rhythms and you can marvel at how the best drivers whack exactly the same apex lap after lap. You can also see the teams' efforts at distinguishing their cars (strobes, UV strips and flashing tyrevalve caps are not uncommon).

Dawn is interesting. Especially if you've been up all night as you can see how much gaffer tape has been applied overnight. The times tend to slow a bit while the dew clears.

Through mid morning to the finish it is nailbiting if you know people taking part. You're just praying they finish. Then it's all over.

The best way to experience it in my view is to stay up all day and all night. Hard to pick bits of it to watch.

I have also now had to make alternative arrangements for Sunday. I am surprised that no one from Pistonheads has replied to any of our questions about whether they have allocated the tickets. Surely if the winners had been informed there would be a post on here from one of the winners? My guess (although I hope I am wrong) is that Pistonheads haven't yet informed any of the winners that they have won.

I imagine this event will be even worse attended that Silverstone. I am still surprised that so few people appeared to turn up to Silverstone, people were given free tickets and knew within 24 hours that they had won but still didn't go! You can lead a horse to water, but you can't .....

Fingers crossed everything will be ok the next event.

(Sorry if I sound like I am moaning too much as after all these are free tickets).

All

Apologies for the hideously late notice regarding this, we have been awaiting word from Thruxton regarding ticket allocation- so couldn't advise until now.

We now have enough tickets for ALL those that entered, and a ticket will be left for all of you at the main ticket office for collection between 09.00 and 10.30- your names are on a list so no need to take anything with you. The Team RPM talk will start at 09.30.

Apologies for the delay, and we appreciate that not all of you will be able to attend now, however an e mail has been sent to you all (to the addresses used to enter the competition)

Lets hope we get things sorted earlier for Croft.

Have a great Bank Holiday

G

By the way- if anyone can't make it and wants to give their ticket up then just ensure the new person collects the ticket under the winners original name.

Apologies for being crap
