C'mon lewis, change your surname to Jones or Davies, you're welcome on this side of the bridge.
I didn't realise there was a name restriction to get into the land of our fathers!

There seems to be a lot of comments about what Lewis said, and how it's put annoyed some of you. Could someone fill me in on what he's said thats annoyed people? I didn't see any of the build up or interviews afterwards, so at the moment all I can see is a lot of people slagging off a championship leading driver in his rooky year for no apparent reason..... Fill me in people.

I supported Hamilton in GP2, and enjoyed his race at Silverstone last year, but with his many different comments such as refuring to the back markers as monkeys and recently "threatening" to leave the country if the press don't leave him alone (in a "you wouldn't want to deny my fans my presence here" type way)and his general dodgy attitude have made me like him less and less, i'm not just going to support someone because their British, that's daft.

Sounds OK to me. I'd like to bet he referred to the back markers as Monkeys because they got in his way? When theres a car going a lot slower in front of you and in your way on the road I'm sure we're all tempted to call them names.

As for leaving the UK. Well why would he stay? The press are always looking for a way to create a story about anybody successful, and frankly as soon as you have more than 2 1p pieces to rub together your better off living in Monaco for Tax reasons.

As for his attitude I've yet to see anything other than "I'm obviously doing something right, now let me keep doing it and stop arseing around"...

Rubbish!

He said he can't go on with papers and people making stuff up about him like this whole thing about him seeing Ron.Ds daughter, basically lies are ruining his life at the moment, you can't blame him for telling the press to wind its neck in.

I all honesty the way you lot treat him I would jet off to Monaco too with two fingers up.

In which other country would they cheer against one of their very own having a blow out in their first year of F1 WHILST LEADING THE CHAMPIONSHIP? nowhere.

I have said it before and I will say it again, the English don't take care of their own. Why do you think everyone of any fame or fortune leaves?

The Scots, Irish and Welsh are patriotic and will allways cheer their guy on.

Re Hamilton's brother - I did wonder whether that was him, but I've noticed the black guy in full McLaren overalls at the back of the pits before; I think he may actualy be a mechanic/engineer. When we see Hamilton's brother, he is never in overalls.
Hi,

Hamiltons brother is handicapped, he has cerebral palsy? The guy we were watching had a disability and then reappeared in a wheel chair, and we saw a group of mechanics stop and chat for him for a while. I bet he loves being the centre of attention.

I guess he has been enjoying life for some time now courtesy of Lewises exploits, after all even travelling the world of international karting was no doubt very exciting at the time. But boy, he must be enjoying himself now. You just can't imagine what he thinks of, and feels for, Lewis.

Its just all part of the big breath of fresh air Lewis has swept in to F1, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I do hope Lewis and Fernando can remain on good terms. The fact that they've both apologised to each other is a big step, 'cos I can't imagine drivers of the past doing it, thinking of the likes of Senna, mansell, Prost etc.

Generalisations are for muppets. Count me out of that thankyou very much.

The famous leave bonny Scotland too you know, DC is a an obvious example residing in Monaco. Like most of these Scots ex pats, he is sometimes seen donning his tartan regalia when he likes to remind himself where he came from. wink

Lewis seems like a nice enough lad to me, he is far less of a cock than some of the people seen in the padock. His monkeys at the back comment has been taken out of context by the press and people with an agenda, as per usual. If they keep that up he may just decide to become a Kimi and say nothing in future, which would be good wouldnt it.

No he did'nt. For the record he referred to being pleased at being on the front of the grid for the Monaco GP. So he was'nt mixed up with the 'monkeys at the back'.

I think the context is quite important. Perhaps even, dare I say, actually witnessing him say it on TV in the interview rather than reading it second hand in print before passing judgement. Although I agree it was a dumb comment.

I remeber that, laughed out loud then as I do now, think it's a very funny comment.
