Sag's to race in DSC - Silverstone 6-9th. Sept
Discussion
We are delighted to confirm that 4 Sagaris's (Sagari?)have entered for the Silverstone rounds of the Dutch Supercars. This is part of the Britcar 24 hr weekend and should provide some great racing.
The Sagaris Teams are:
Tim Hood & Dave Porter
Steve Glynn & Nathan Freeke
Fred Tonge & Dean Cook
Andy Holden & Darren Dowling are also entered and I know Andy is working all hours to finish his Sag in time. We hope he gets there and can't wait to see the car finished, it's bound to be stunning. I'm sure Andy will give us an update on here soon.
In the meantime the current (latest) schedule is as follows:-
Free Practice - Thurs 6th.Sept at 12 noon (30 mins)
Qualifying - Fri 7th.Sept at 10.55am (30 mins)
Race 1 - Fri 7th.Sept at 17.15pm (45mins)
Race 2 - Sat 8th.Sept at 15.00pm (45 mins)
It would be great to have your support, we're up against some pretty hot stuff in the GT Class and we understand that there are over 40 cars on the grid in our grouping!
All the best.

The first details of this car can be seen herehttp://www.tvrmonster.com/newsandyspec.html
Quite and impressive looking beasty, and very different to the GTF cars...
Should put up a good fight at the 24hr

I haven't paid yet Dom, because I am trying to get them to accept that they should not be charging Dutch VAT when I am VAT registered here. Single European market and all that...
Just been looking at the Racesport Sagaris pictures and I'm struck by how similar the car is to the existing Sagaris racers. The biggest obvious differences other than the engine and box are the roll cage which is more heavily braced. Will be very interesting to see it in the flesh at Silverstone.

That's a fair point Andy. As I understand the tyre suppliers will do zero VAT on production of a UK registered VAT number. In any event though, it's reclaimable on your VAT return isn't?

No its not because the UK tax authorities would be paying input tax back to me when the output tax was paid to the Netherlands authorities. The single market tax rules (zero rate if selling to VAT registered person in another EU country) were supposed to sort this out.
Quick break to eat a sandwich then the gearbox goes in....

Andy, I see what you're saying now. I'll have to try and sort this out retropsectively with V-Max Racing as I've paid in full already, which included the 6% local VAT.
P.S. - Did the gearbox go in alright and how've you got on with the wiring looms?

Gearbox not in, caught in coolant hose of wrong size hell. Not a problem, plenty of other things to do, so splitter, rad frame, oil coolers installed and one bank of exhausts. Other side au matin, then fettle the bonnet to fit. Will fire the engine Tues evening instead. Making good progress, its just irritating. Loom - well all the ancillaries work and I have a brand new ECU loom, so I am hoping engine side of wiring is fine. I even have a demisting fan. The drinks cooler isn't wired in yet tough....P.S. - Did the gearbox go in alright and how've you got on with the wiring looms?
