The Nascar commentary is always pretty amusing - curious mix of American anchor-man professionalism interspersed with guest Driver-commentators (usually retired guys, or those out due to injury).
You get the slick pro-commentary, backed with a brilliant mix of Hillbilly racer humour, driving insight, and general piss-taking.
They'll spend entire laps taking the mick out of each other, the crew-chiefs, the drivers, the cars, the weather - but never the fans or the sponsors.
Makes the Motors TV, Setanta and ITV efforts look completely useless.
Yes and no - aside from Andy Petree I can do without the ESPN crew. Disappointed that judging by Richmond they seem to be doing the races shown on ABC this year instead of Wally Dallenbach et al.You get the slick pro-commentary, backed with a brilliant mix of Hillbilly racer humour, driving insight, and general piss-taking.

On Fox Darrel "Boogity" Waltrip is a giggle and Larry McReynolds is very informative.
Note for people that don't watch NASCAR - the 36 races that make up the cup season are shown on a total of four different channels, 12 each on Fox and ABC, six each on ESPN and TNT, hence all the different commentators.
I prefered Ben Edwards and John Watson doing. One thing that really annoys me about Murray Walker is that he can be absolutely clueless - one of his annoying cliches was "I have no idea why [insert car/driver] is slow but I imagine its something to do with grip" - how insightful!
At least we had James Hunt to provide back up:
"And Gerhard Berger's McLaren is on fire!"
"No Murray, that's just his rear brake lights!!!!"
Ben Edwards and Jeremy Shaw were great for CART in the late 1990s.
Paul Page and Garry Gerald - I remember they did Indycar in the early-mid 1990s. Shame they're doing NHRA and not IRL.
Martin Haven is a great commentator. He made F3000 worth watching which is always a great sign of a good commentator. He would manage to find something funny to say and was always ready to take the piss out of the numpty drivers.
