Anyone else going over to Spa for the GP this year?
We're driving over on Friday afternoon and would love some recommendations on the best places to camp, eat, drink and view the race. We went 2 years ago but can't for the life of me remember where we camped (it was dark when we arrived!) or viewed the race from (it was a long walk though!)!
Also, as we're there for 2-3 days this year is there anything else worth seeing or doing?

I'll be there, my Dad and I are going over with the Page and Moy tour - we haven't done it before so wanted it all arranged for us, and he's getting on a bit so a comfy hotel for us (nothing to do with my need for hair straightners and an allergy to camping!!)
Doubt you'll pick me out of a crowd but nice to know we're all in good company!
Now all I need if for Jenson to suddenly find a few seconds a lap.... the only set up secrets honda used this year were from ikea!!

LOL - I did think the "how will we keep our beer cool" was a bit ambitious, whilst we've been in Spa and had some lovely weather it is just as likely to be cold, wet and manky. My sister is in Germany and says they are still having the wet and cold weather that we had for most of July and August.
Francorchamps is tiny, there are a couple of restaurants but there isn't much else to it. You'll find much more in Spa itself but you'd need to drive there from Francorchamps.

(have car will travel)
Don't forget Stavelot, there is an excellent museum in the Abbe as well which is well worth a butchers.(have car will travel)
Personally I prefer Stavelot to Spa/Francachamps but always try to stay a little bit further a field at a secluded hotel or with friends in their farmhouse (who also has an account at the paddock bar (!Result! )

Ohh yes, good point about Stavelot, well worth a trip.
I imagine on camping you'll get what you can get at this stage. someone mentioned that there is camping behind the Racing Hotel in Francorchamps, I'd head for the circuit and look for signage - be slightly aware of the costs though, Cooperlola paid quite a lot of money at one of the sites in Francorchamps for the GP where I think everything was extra, x Euros for the car, x euros for tent, x euros for people.

so can anyone recommend a good camp site then.
I stayed here in 2005:www.campingspador.be/ardens/english/welcome_to_cam...
And very pleasant it was too. Reasonable rates, good beer 5 mins from the circuit. Job done.
According to the BBC's weather site it's going to be fine all weekend...
