They said on the Quali that Rosberg had chosen to stay with BMW for next year. So it won't be him. Davidson is a good shout, but unlikely.
I think you will find that Rosberg currently drives for Williams actually, and they definitely aren't BMW!
Oops. Well he's staying with the same team for next year smile

Heidfeld: #2 driver, if all other options fail.

Rosberg: Just not good enough.

Webber: Can't race.

Coulthard: Never had enough drive in him to be a contender.

Button: Totally out of his league.

Sutil: Possible test driver.

Pafett : A contender.

De La Rosa: No chance.

Davidson: Not fast enough.

Wheldon: Serious contender.

Franchitti: Serious contender.

I'd love to see that but the rumours are that he's off to NASCAR for 2008.

How about this guy?

Is the Mercedes protoge that far out of the picture ?
Has Schumi really had enough?
or:
Massa to McLaren and Schumi paired with Kimi?

Fernando's Renault bound, I bet Flav's rubbing his hands with glee.
The return of the prodigal son!
Well he re-employed that talentless berk Fisi din't he ?

umm you reckon paffett is better than nico and button? he's more likely to land the job granted, because he has two big feet through the door already but i don't think he's a better driver than either...

Not a chance. Schumi skillfully avoided all serious competition throughout his career. Won't start now.
Alonso thought this was common practice, hence all this bother!

if he is in the running then u might as well throw hakinen in the mix.......

btw to all those button doubters out there, im sure if honda give him an even half decent car next season we will see him up there, with the banning of traction control u will see driver throttle and car control even more to the fore, and jenson is widely regarded as one of, if not the smoothest driver on the circuit.........

Mika H.
mmmmm.......

Trouble is, more I think about it, the smaller the chances of Alonso going. Too much Santander money involved. I bet those contracts make interesting reading. Not once has Ron had a bad word to say about FA. He's taken the rap in every instance. Can't see Flav cowtowing as much if put in the same position

I really wonder how this will effect F1, Fisi was on ITV during qualifying and the throttle graphic popped up and even I'm smoother than that. Same goes for Ralf Schumacher's hacking at the steering through the bus stop chicane.

Oh come on....

Can anybody honestly say that they think that Button is any good?

Button is another Derek Warwick. Was good in the lower formulae, showed a glimmer of talent, but his F1 career was woulda shoulda coulda.

In the case of Wheldon and Franchitti they at least have top league experience and wins at that level. F1 would not be a stretch.

Hmm.

History suggests otherwise, even for consistently successful US based drivers and with very few exceptions. Going the other way seems to have been a little easier over the years.

So you think Franchitti to start his F1 career at the age of 34 would be a better bet than Button who is 27 and has ~130 F1 starts? I think Franchitti would be completely unremarkable against the quality of driver in F1, his career results are hardly stunning.

FA wont go anywhere unless RD writes him a big cheque to terminate his contract early.

Now given the FIA fine imposed I am not sure if RD is in a position to force this through. RD has already said there will be cut backs as a result - LH may have to dust his old go carts off....

If my employer had been fined for illegally obtaining competitor's data, and it had emerged that I had knowingly used this data for months, I think my desk would be cleared very quickly.

McLaren have committed a crime and been punished. They now need to punish their employees to restore their credibility with sponsors. Therefore McLaren have to put any engineers and drivers who were party to this into 'disciplinary action'

It would cause too much of a furore to put FA on gardening leave now and end the world championship battle, so Ron needs to ensure his 'internal investigation' extends until November before taking disciplinary action.

Alonso back to Renault, Rosberg to McLaren and Williams start all over again with two chargers - maybe Sutil and AN other?

does anyone else *really* not rate sutil. he's done absolutely nothing to impress me - ok granted the spyker is the worst car on the grid, but it doesn't help if your driver is throwing it off the road every weekend

and fwiw i think the loss of traction control will have little effect next year
