Alonso to Ferrari?
Discussion
According to Planet F1, Alonso has signed a $20 million deal with Dobbin, citing his displeasure at Mclarens equality policy. According to the report, Massa is off to Toyota...... Does this mean that Kimi becomes Alonso's lap dog? Or is Alonso prepared to have equal standing with the seasoned Kimi over the rookie Hamilton?
it strikes me that its tabloid gossip, however where theres smoke....

I love the comment that Alonso will do well in the fezza, as he already knows all about the car and how to set it up

Ferrari will have to buy Alonso out of his contract with McLaren, so that'll pay what's left to pay of their fine.
Or why not swap Alonso for Massa? Hamilton and Massa get on well plus any information Alonso will take from McLaren to Ferrari will be equalled out with information Massa would bring from Ferrari.

That makes no sense - if Alonso throws his toys out of the pram when beaten by a team mate (which seems to be the general consensus), why would he put himself against Kimi? Ferrari aren't going to give him unequivocal number one status...
Exactly. My moneys on Alonso going back to Renault. Only if they can afford to pay him enough though!

Ah, but you'd need to see it from the FIA's eyes. Wouldn't that be a clear case of McLaren bribing a Ferrari employee to work for them and supply privileged information? Ban. Alonso doing the same in the other direction for a much bigger fee? I'm sorry, didn't you hear us say McLaren are banned? Zip it. Zip. Zi-.....Zzzzz...ip. It.
If Alonso does go back to renault he won't find it easy against Kovi with a season under his belt.
The only place he can get unchallenged no1 status is with a 2nd tier team - what a cop out, I rate him as a driver but as a man he's like a spoilt child. he should grow up and accept that real men face their challenges full on.

Total fantasy in my humble opinion.
Politically I can't imagine Ferrari signing Alonso for 2008 after the whole Stepneygate affair and his being named as having been aware of the information in the dossier. Not to say that they wouldn't like him on their team in the future though.
Secondly I'm not sure Alonso would want to race in the same team as Kimi. Too similar to the situation with Hamilton, a naturally fast team-mate who will steal your setups and beat you with them. Alonso's looking for a number 2 wherever he goes next.
