I reckon he will beat Alonso this weekend, and in so doing win the title.
Then he will showboat a win in Brazil as Champion..

Ladbrokes have him at 4/7 to wrap it up this weekend.

Can't wait for qualy and race.. biggrin

Would be great woudn't it.

I'd put money on the Spaniard saving the air fare to Sao Paulo if he loses it to Hamilton this weekend.

Looks like it could be a Ferrari 1--2 with Alonso & Lewis fighting over 3rd. As long as Lewis is right behind Alonso in 3rd down he will win the title.

Seconded thumbup

Its ashame its not Massa's year - but it would be great to see Kimi pull something out of the bag and snatch it.

(if not just to see if he does actually crack a smile!)

Just how will KR win it? LH will not have a double DNF.

And if the rest of the season is anything to go by - it probably will (on or off the track)

I think Massa will Win. If he does the top 4 will have won 4 races each. I think this season will be remembered for a long time either way.

Then maybe in 3 years time another great young British driver will come along and everyone will forget about Hamilton, the way many British fans' allegiance has moved away from Button now that he's no longer seen as a potential WC. Not glory hunting or fickle at all...

I dont think that's true. We (mostly) all still want button to do well, but there's no point saying that he'll get a win, is there?

I prefer button, but am still very pleased to see LH doing so well.

I've stayed out of the Hamilton bundle up till now, mainly because of the amount it gets bandied about on these here forums. But how can you say something like that? Button has never been a credible WC hope, because he has never had the right car under him. It would be lovely for him to win it, especially in a Honda (just for variety's sake!), but it's a bit like flogging a dead horse. The support is still there, as Button's name gets put up on here all the time, but where's the point in rooting for him as WC when another British driver currently has the right package? It's impossible to rate Button vs. Hamilton unless they were in the same car, so why whinge about it?

I notice how nobody is complaining about the lack of support for DC, the longest running Brit driver in the championship. DC for World Champion! hehe

Fair enough, though you do kind of prove my point. I.e. it's a bit like flogging a dead horse.

This kind of gives the impression that many are only interested in a driver that's winning, which I can understand to a point, though it does smack of glory hunting. I've been a lifelong Ferrari fan. Now it was great when they were winning but they also went through years of mediocrity, but that didn't mean I started supporting Williams or McLaren.

As for Coulthard, a fair point. Though I'd say that whilst he's calmed down now, for years he was a whinging fool...which in my mind didn't warrant any support.

Hamilton is a proper talent, and is winning against the best drivers in the best cars.. IMO the last British driver to win the world championship with true talent against the best, was Jackie Stewart.

Damon Hill only won, when Schumacher moved to Ferrari.. and was not in the same league.

Mansell won because the Williams was vastly superior to the McLaren of Senna.

Hunt won because Lauder refused to race in the wet in Japan.

There is no question that Alonso in the McLaren and Raikonnen in the Ferrari are the best 2 driver/team combos, that even Schumacher at his peak, would struggle against..

Hamilton will be a truly talented Champion.. not just a good driver in the best car!

I guess that's the difference between a proper supporter (i.e: support for a team, like yourself) and a generic fan who's happy to just follow the sport, like me. Neither's better, but I wouldn't call myself a glory hunter smile
