Being a half-wit does not have to equate to being dyslexic, there's no way that this could go to court. Max is entitled to his opinion the same as we all are. Haven't we all seen much much worse insults on here?

If MM was a bell end for saying it, then JS is looking more of a bell-end for taking it so much to heart and even mentioning court action.

Ummmmmmmmmm I'm telling!

No, of course not.

But certified half-wit would seem to allude to it.

I don't think you understand the serious circumstances in which the comment was made. This was not a private chat amoung friends, this was the President of the FIA publically attacking JS and even when asked to apologise he refuses to.

What would happen if Prime Minister Brown (or Blair) would have stood up in public and said that the French are stupid, or that you shouldn't believe David Cameron becuase he is gay!

Everyone is entitled to their private thoughts and yes, forums like this allow us 'normal' members of the public to voice opinion, but Max is in a position of authority and we've heard him attack McLaren in recent weeks for bring the sport into disrepute - so what the FECK is he doing right now????

hows about we all chip in to the fighting fund for "motorsport fans of the Uk vs Max Mosley" for actions unbecoming, and bringing the sport into disrepute laugh
reckon Ron and JS would be one of the first with a couple of quid biglaugh

That's an external interpretation. Jackie doesnt have a certificiate on his wall saying 'Congratulations on being dyslexic'.. it's just the same as calling some one a prize-pillock or a complete-buffon instead of just a pillock or a buffoon.

People want to read more into what he said simply cos they don't like him or the questionable effectiveness of which he does his job.

Now stop all being offically-proven-cocktards wink

Anyone a regular in the paddock care to comment on what people think about JS then?

There is a general problem with getting ex sportspeople like JS to comment, whilst they can talk about how the sport was in their era, and I have no doubts at all that JS was a true great behind the wheel is he really qualified to comment on F1 today let alone about supposed legal process?

Lights touch paper and legs it smile

I'm not sure where Damon connected MM's tirade of insults and dyslexia, but that apart, SPOT ON.
JYS is a charector and triple Formula One World Champion. He may rattle on a bit, but what the hell....he likes to talk....so what.
What has Max Moseley ever achieved.
I think if he'd just said "halfwit" one could be forgiven for thinking he meant a slur on his thinking, like you'd call someone else an idiot who you didn't like. The fact that he specified "Certified half-wit" suggests he was directly alluding to Jackie's dyslexia. i.e. To know you're dyslexic, you go to the doctors (or whoever), who does some tests, then says "You have dyslexia." Otherwise you just go on through life thinking you're not very good at reading, but not dyslexic.

Having read Damons letter I wondered if a lot of what he was saying came from him being the Father of a son with Down's Syndrome and knowing how cruel other people can be.

I would imagine that JYS is probably more annoyed and more likely to sue over the comments that he is not taken seriously in the paddock or by sponsors than by the petty, childish name calling. Afterall that is where he makes his living.

Daughter I think, but yes, I think he may well take this type of thing more seriously than he might do otherwise. I also think he's a genuinely nice guy who believes in playing nicely with others.

The article about JYS was very intersting, especially about his believe in integrity, fairness etc. You can see why MM wouldn't like his approach to life can't you....

I think MM’s comments probably run deeper than face value and show his true beliefs. JYS has a disability that does not fit the world that MM was brought up to believe in, his comments are trying to infer inferiority, albeit one that is blatantly untrue and unjust. Despite what people may think if you look at MM’s past he has campaigned for some very unsavoury things, and sadly I don’t think this Leopard has changed his spots.

Anyone else get the impression the Damon has got him self a ghost-writer? I agree completely with his sentiments but they just seem a little more erudite than usual.
I dunno but it's great! I love his use of "bad mannered" what a dreadfully evocative picture it builds and its all the better for coming from someone like Damon with his heritage within the sport.

Without any shadow of a doubt, Max has brought the sport into disrepute, so I sincerely hope someone sues his butt off.

The Mosley picture appears to be:

- Guy who grew up with both his parents amongst the most reviled persons in British history. That is bound to twist a person's mind.
- Appears to believe that he belongs to a race of people who are superior to normal folk who have had to make their way through life.
- Tried to be a racing driver but failed, whilst, in contrast, Jackie Stewart is the greatest living British driver.

I got a bollocking for raising his family history on another website. Apparently it's not relevant to his bullying, dictatorial behaviour and isn't something that should be discussed...
