Interesting situation - I work alongside about 7-8 nationalities, one of them being Spanish. To hear what they think (based on what they've read/heard) you'd think it was a different season, sometime in the future - their POV is totally the reverse.

FA wasn't popular in Spain prior to this season, they considered him arrogant. Now they all support him due to the perception that he has been very unfairly treated by Mclaren, they hate LH as they think he's a daddies boy and the favoured son of RD, they even hate LH's dad being on the telly every week, citing that as blatant favouritism and so on.

Basically it's the same set of facts but percieved differently due to the medias hyping up of every trivial associated incident or possible connection - we have ours, they have theirs, but the facts don't change, just how you see them, which is via the media....
Absolutely spot on.
The British media is leading these Hamilton fanboys by the nose and they don't realise it.
Hamilton is the most prepared person ever to enter F1. And he got the best car.
But this does not make him the best driver ever in F1. It doesn't even make him the best current driver. Because that is Alonso.

What constitutes preparation? Working your way up through the various formulae? He's had no other preparation to 'enter F1'. Also by your logic, FA is more prepared than LH as he's been racing for several seasons... yet he can't beat a rookie.

If FA is the best driver because he's won 2 WDC's surely then the best CURRENT driver this season has to be the one leading the WDC, which is LH? Otherwise it's just an opinion, and is pointless posting as if it is a matter of fact.

And why would the best driver in F1 be losing his head and making mistakes on track - regardless of any unproven team favouritism - by being beaten by a rookie? Surely this only makes him an overrated driver?

FA best driver in F1? By what's happened this season, that is simply impossible to anyone but the most deluded of glory-hunters.

Looks like the Spanish are invading the BBC comments section regarding LH.

Somebody mentioned bullfighting earlier, maybe this is the problem as its not a fair fight(not equal terms), they actually shorten the bulls horns before the fight so that it will miss when it goes for one of the bullfighters.

Are we not in agreement then that Hamilton has done the best job so far out of the top 4 drivers this season?

Of course (unless some are mathematically challenged)!
