Great start to the final GP!

Would have liked to have seen an interview with the Spantard though, perhaps too busy smashing things!

.......... keep this one thread to simply discuss the race tomorrow and not have it degenerate into another bitching session please smile
yes please

And lets hope we have a 'clean' race and no interference from the FIA.

What about the McLaren tyre graining though? That could hurt them again.

Don't know if it's possible tomorrow, but after points and race wins, what determines who wins if there's a draw in the championship?

Lewis didnt suffer from graining, he took it easier on the outlap to Alonso and that apeared to work. He also seemed quite comfy with the tyre during the fuel burn phase.

Although he did say that he'd pretty much used up the softs after five fuel burn laps.eek

Yeh, i saw that later. It didnt seem to slow him down but if they cant last long enough for a stint we could witness a strange ending to the championship. Hopefully the track rubbering in will stop this becoming a big issue.

5 laps should cover the amount of fuel he has got for the first stint!

joking aside, if the tyres are that bad, it makes a short first stint make sense and may harm alonso & raikkonen who seem to have more fuel

so she thinks she could do better??

remember this is how we ended up with single lap qualifying, and boy was that crap/boring....

I have never really been a Ferrari fan, but this year has seem them hit an all time low in my view, why the F*** can't they just let their drivers do the talking on the track? this is supposed to be a motor race, not a bulshit and political point scouring exercise...

i think its part of the italian temperment, kick em while they are down, run away when they are up, attack the flanks as they are the weakspots. they dont have the nerve to have a straight fight.

How could you get lower than when they pressured Niki to race with painful scar tissue round his eyes?

ddavid said:
Although he was able to stand after the accident, it soon became evident that his injuries were grave. Hot, toxic gases had damaged the inside of his lungs and his blood. His helmet had come partially adrift and he had suffered severe burns to his head. He lapsed into a coma. For a period of time his life was despaired of. However, he rallied and, in a show of courage that is difficult to overstate, was back in a Ferrari cockpit at speed six weeks after the accident (he later revealed that at the time he was virtually petrified with fear).

Both teams are out to gain every possible advantage.

If this was hamilton passing massa on his flying lap then im sure that maclaren would have also asked the FIA to look at it.

At least common sense has prevailed this time and there is no penalty.

Part of the skill in this type of qualifying is to find some clear track on your fst lap. Some teams/drivers are much better at this than others.

So McLaren's crafty plan to keep Kimi off pole worked.

Meanwhile watch out for tyres being a big element in deciding the race.
Interlagos has been resurfaced and it seems to be eating tyres.
Both the softs and the supersofts are losing speed very quickly after just a few laps. And they are graining. So conserving tyres will be very important. And we saw how good Lewis was at this at Silverstone and in China.

Yes a shame Kimi is allways very fuelled up, he doesn't often get to fight for polefrown.
