Which ones were they John? My uncle until very recently worked at Historic Raceprep (previously JTM)in Fernhurst and prepped the John Whitmore (Alan Mann) Mustang, plus I think the Derek Bell and possibly Rowan Atkinson Mustangs too, and also one of the Galaxies I think.

The McLaren M1B of Nick Whale, which finished 2nd in the Whitsun Trophy and the Mercury Comet Cyclone that Andy Rouse was driving in the St Mary's Trophy.

I was chatting to some of the Alan Mann guys at Spa the other week, they build stunning cars and seem like a great bunch of guys.

I think my uncle went along to that meeting as ISTR him saying he had a few beers with some of the other mechanics there, that might have been you lot?
He's also called John, if it was him you'd probably remember him for being deaf as a post despite only being in his 40s!

Sadly no beers were shared at Spa, i was too knackered after getting the cars ready for Spa and at the same weekend nurburgring. I am fighting off going deaf in my 40's too, pardon? redface

Was the TVR Race one - the obe with the 2 Griff200's finished in top 2 - only caught 2nd half.

It is on again tomorrow. Set recorder.

First race was the Whitsun trophy, with the GT40's, Lola T70 spyders and McLaren M1B's.

Bugger, missed it. I'll check the listings but does anyone know if it is going to be repeated?

Finally catch the first part after watching the tail end yesterday.

Can't believe they did not edit it to show that the Cheat that is the Ray Bellm and the GT40 did not actually win the Big Banger Whitsun event. "I have been trying for 5 years to Win this race" - well you won't be bloody coming back again will youwink.

He was thrown out at the end of the day after many people question how a heavier and (in period prepared GT40) less powerfull GT40 could beat a T70 Lola (GT40 had fia papers pre-66 and very strict but was found to have higher ratio and roller rocker for more sustained revs and tad more power) - Utter morons as all you do is take the rocker covers off 30 second job. Syntner - must have been P*SSED after crashing to try to keep ahead of it.

I dont think that would have been helpful to the event or TV show jellison.

It was just great to see the race featured fully, last years program only showed a few seconds of it, which was a shame, probably because of the atrocious weather conditions making it hard to film.

I really enjoyed the program, it showed some great racing.
