Is this the end for Ron???

Caught cheating (?)
Poor handling of team and World champ
Mess up Lewis' race in China - admitted :
Didn't give Hamilton the correct pre-rac pep-talk? [Lewis' race start reminded me of Gazza in the '91 Cup Final, fizzing with aggression and ending up on a stretcher]
Everything in the bag weeks ago and totally allowed to slip through their (his?) fingers. If I was in charge of Mercedes or a big McLaren sponsor I would now be asking some very awkward questions (regardless of FIA bias real or imagined).

No - you might argue my hypothesis is stupid - but my contention is that this is a VERY commercialised sport and hence this kind of high level failure can usually cost jobs - cf. Northern Rock The thread is an inanimate method of exchanging ideas - Stoopid!
Yep. Ron must be in big poo.
The best car and the best driver (Alonso) and still he lost.
Despite having Ferrari's secrets.
He let his love of a rookie get in the way of the job.
Mercedes will be furious, because without Alonso McMerc will not be a top team next season.
You just get worse.
What's the difference between "draw" and "drawer" again, brucie?

He knows zero about F1 so you are wasting your time.

I suspect that he might have an issue with the Spanish sponsors, although that would be influenced by whether Alonso stayed or went. The thread is an inanimate method of exchanging ideas - Stoopid!
The other sponsors, I daresay, are thrilled to bits that they got more eyeball hits this year than they ever could have imagined, with the prospect of big coverage via Hamilton for the foreseeable future.
WRT the FIA stuff, I would bet that the way things unfolded more engendered support from the sponsors than it would have caused frictions.
Cheers.

Ther weren't proven to be cheating. They were proven to have had some documents at an employee's house. None of the 780 in it were proven to have been absorbed into the car.Poor handling of team and World champ

The philosophy of the team is to let the drivers race, they won't change that for whining Alonso. The only poor management has been not sidelining him after he tried to blackmail Ron.
You don't know he didn't talk to Lewis, but Lewis may have forgotten is in the heat of the moment.
Everything is not in the bag until it's over. Merc Bosses will only want to see the troblemaker gone.
So, no, Ron's got nothing to worry about.

Next year it'll just get ramped up even more: "Can the best rookie in history avenge the bitterness of his bad luck at the final race and come back to be (still) the youngest driver to win the title, the first black man, etc, etc...?!"
(And I still say you've got one of the all-time best user names.)
Cheers.

Pretty difficult to pin that solely on him IF it was cheating CiderwithCerbie said:

How did he handle it poorly?? Alonso acted like a child and Ron just ignored him and carried on giving him the best equipment for him to do his job.CiderwithCerbie said:

Ron doesnt make strategy decisions. He will always take on the public blame for the team but the real people at fault in that were Lewis' engineers.CiderwithCerbie said:

I doubt Ron said much to Lewis at all. Lewis knew what he needed to do, he had a lot of advice from a lot of people. At the end of the day whatever people say to him its still down to Lewis as the driver to get the job done.CiderwithCerbie said:

It was never 'in the bag'. The teams shortfalls cant be pinned on Ron. He didnt make Hamilton drive into the gravel and he didnt cause his gearbox trouble. Ron has a lot of experience in these situations and I'm sure he would be one of the first to admit whilst theres an chance someone else can win you cannot afford mistakes. Its racing and shit happens...I think you should look more at what Ron HAS done this season. He led his team through arguably there hardest season to date and went into the final race with both his drivers potential world champions. No other team principle had as much to worry about away from the track and yet they were still the strongest overall team all season.
This season has been the best (results wise) for a long time. Why would Ron want to leave HIS team???
