I'm sure they will be singing a different tune if/when Alonso announces he's not leaving McLaren. I suppose then it'll be 'Alonso tries to save McLaren' or some such nonsense. More like 'Alonso not wanted by any other team after getting flappy chin syndrome'.

Still, at least Ron 'equality' Dennis can look at himself in the mirror and know that his principles are stronger than his desire to go back on them to win. I'd rather be Ron than Montezemolo, who made himself look a bit of a prat lately.

Funny, I don't see them mention that Lewis beat Alonso overall in the WDC, eh?

I would laugh my bits off if Ron Dennis announced that they were going to support one driver next year. Lewis Hamilton. At least Alonso got both what he wanted and what he deserved.

I really hope Aloneso stays at McLaren only for Lewis to cream him even more next season. LH is only going to get better and he would have the psychological edge from the start... No better way to shut the Spanish up. biggrin

The El Mundo is probably entirely right to say that if it was just Alonso with a Fisi/Trulli co-driver at McLaren he would have taken the drivers championship outright, but that does not in any way make McLaren's actions towards driver equality this year foolish.
