They would surely be daft to keep him as what stops him from doing the same this year? The Spantard is mentally unstable and would rock the boat again, Lewis has him in his back pocket ALREADY.

Renault.

HK declined to deny that he was going to McLaren next year.
Briatore loves FA.

If the finances can be worked out, it's a done deal.

I think FA will stay at Mclaren.

It would be too costly to buy him out (or to try and sack him) - has Cochlan been sacked/left?

Martin Whitmarsh will take over the reigns (RD has already said on camera that he has discussed this with MW - timing is the only outstanding question/answer).

So then RD retires, MW take over and FA stays, and Mclaren have two very competitive drivers.

What part of Alonso is not a nice trust worthy person do you not seem to understand?

I will bet with anyone on Pistnheads that Alonso will not be there next season no matter who is in charge at Mclaren - He is a liability and being found out that HE had Ferrari data which led to the fine and getting kicked out of the constructors champinionship is surely unforgiveable or am i missing something here?????

And if he is such a great driver then why could he not beat the inexperinced rookie in the same car? How many F1 tracks had Hamilton raced before? Lewis had Alonso beat in the first half of the season, next season would be even more of an embarrasment for 2 times world champ Fernando.

Has Ron Dennis said anything about retiring??

I reckon he'll want to see Hamilton to a championship first.

You're missing that's he is still a hell of a good racing driver. Arguably his influence, and his setting the benchmark even helped make Hamilton the driver he is. I agree that the politics make it difficult, but they've managed the second half of this season with that going on.

I wouldn't bet on him being at McLaren next year but it is a possibility.

AJS - but they've managed the second half of this season with that going on.

Did Max Mosely not state that Mclaren had no choice but to put up with Alonso for the rest of the season?

Renault. A swap with Heikki.
yes

Straight swap with Mclaren paying the spantards wages for Renault until his contracts up.

They could have dumped him if they really wanted to.

I wouldn't put a lot of money on that one, my friend.

Ron's got the cards.
Either Alonso drives for McLaren, staying within his own little "Me, Me, Me!" world, but still trying to prove that he's better than Hamilton, or he leaves, for which Ron would expect compensation.

Why would Ron pay someone to take one of the three best drivers (and a good source of sponsorship) out of his car?

He was the only one (or two) to admit that he knew about the Ferrari data.

I am not going to go into the spying thing + who did what as it has been done to death - to prove my point though - Coughlan stated that he had parts of the Ferrari dossier on the table at the restaurant when he met with his manager, who in turn said he saw the papers but took no notice of the contents.......................... - I will leave it at that.

I still think Mclaren can work this thing out - it was not exclusively FA who cost them the $$$ - the others involved are still there today.

Then again - I do not care much if they do either.

Mclaren got slapped wrists for the initial spy gate inquiery - it was Fernandos emails that got them fined and kicked out.
