Don't see what the problem is actually. To have achieved what he has at the age of 22 is pretty good by any standards. Whether you like him or not, it's hard to deny that he's got every right to feel quite pleased with himself at the moment. And even if there is a touch of arrogance, is this not something that most of the top drivers suffer from?

I'm amazed how neutral people can be, they turn up to the race and don't care who wins, just hoping it's a jolly good show. If you had any bias at all you would use it against the drivers you don't support, some times I dispair at peoples lack of sarcasm.
If you want to support a driver, then do so by all means. That doesn't mean you have to slag off any of the other drivers. You don't have to be unfairly negative about any of them in order to support one. Slagging someone off just for the sake of it is nothing to be proud of to put it mildly.

It's not so bad saying it once, twice even.

But to say it four times in such a short interview is quite amusing.

Seems like you are looking for a reason to bash him. Do you always take the media at it's very word?

On this occasion, how was it the media?

The interview was originally on the Mclaren website - at the bottom of the page here:

I didn't realise the interview was from McLaren, but even internal interviews can be changed somewhat and unless you know the cirumstances in which things have been said, it is impossible to judge.

It still seems like Ecosse is looking for reasons to knock LH though. Seems strange to me

Brilliant - in what must have been a 2 minute interview. I especially like the "but let's not forget" bit in the last quote ; )

Remind me - did he come from GP2 and finish second in the championship?

http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_282152...

" if you think about it, coming from GP2, who would have thought I'd be ranked number two in my first year of Formula 1."

"I've come from GP2 and now I am ranked number two in the world which is positive. I really can't wait for next year. I know we can do a better job. "

" I finished second in the World Championship, I beat my team mate, under extremely difficult circumstances I beat the two time World Champion, that was the goal a the beginning so that's a great result."

"but let's not forget it's been an incredible season for me and to come into my first season in Formula 1 and finish a rank number two. I'm the number two driver in the world, that's - that's pretty awesome "
God, the mouthy little git!...I hope he gets his just desserts next year, just who the hell does he think he is eh?

Did I really need a winking smilie? I thought it was obviously light hearted, If only there was somewhere where we could air our opinions on motorsport and the people in and around it, some sort of motorsport forumwinkwink!

But isn't that designed so that the press can quote sections, rather than being one interview? Anyway if it is a McLaren interview won;t it have been written by a press officer and signed off by Hamilton.
