I think we all agree the most appropriate name would be the TVR Challenge, but if that is not possible for legal reasons then there's not much can be done about it.
We could legitimately call it the TVR Car Club Challenge - that would work yes

That would get my vote too. Tuscan & Sagaris Challenge doesn't really represent what the series is about.

Yes and No really. That title suggests that it is run by the TVR Car Club, which it isn't. It suggests that the competitors would all be memebers of the TVRCC, which although I am as are several others, many are not. And, as we now have Championship status back, putting Club in the title could be a little confusing. wobble

and yet the tuscan and sagaris title we currently have isn't confusing at all to everyone not running on of those cars or the general public wondering what all these other cars are doing in tuscan and sagaris race?

the name is rubbish.

the T350 challenge sounds far more realistic, 'cos it's been one helluva challenge so far!

Actually I think It should be called the Walden Challenge as it was certainly challenging to a couple of Waldens this year !!!!

The Sagaris discussion aside.......looking forward to meeting and running with you gents next year (even if its only while you go past) in the Whatever Challenge. biggrin

I'll say no more on the Sag saga as it may impact negotiations in purchase of available cars at the end of next year if budget permits and the bug is caught..getmecoat

I've been calling you "That bastard Holden" for the last year and a half andyhehe

It's only jealousy andy.

John's car is also a hybrid with non original shell. It was built as a half weight shell with a view to him sitting in it some 30 years laterwink

personally I was never confused by the title the Dunlop Tuscan Challenge.

The TVR car Club Banner would be wrong, considering that it is more appropriate to call it the Grantura Engineering or Readman racing Challenge! I know John never gets very anal about names so personally I don't see what all the fuss is about.

see you all at the back next year.

Next time I see Peter Wheeler at a Heritage race I'll ask him whether he thinks my LS6 engined, Tuscan Challenge chassised, Sagaris bodied race car is in the spirit of TVR. I don't suppose he'll give a , but I bet he'll be quietly chuffed if it gives the Porsches,Ferraris, Vipers and BMWs a good hiding. Which it will.

I love the AJP8 engine - it is superb and reliable in a sprint race format - and I really wanted to see the Speed Six succeed. But if Lawrence Tomlinson couldn't make the S6 work in a race car, I was buggered if I was going to try.
God - I'd love to get Wheeler out in my car - maybe he would not have sold the company if he had experinced LS6 Power in one of his cars!!wink

Pulled it out of the Garage today (still had the roof down from a few weeks ago) and gave it some banana's into work - Muther F*cker - easy to forget how fast it is.

I would be Mega in the challenge on slick and a tad lighter. Even heavy it would be miles ahead of all class B stuff. Mapped for 99 octane it would be about 415bhp and 390+ ft/lbs (so much more torque than an AJP form sod all revs, it could give away some power - and this is a stock one!).

Sag / Tuscan with one would just turn up and spank allcomers. (If it was cammed to about 440+bhp).

After seeing first hand the sagari of Holden, Hood, Glynn and Tong at silverstone racing in the dutch supercar, it is quite clear that these cars can really cut the mustard, beating all manner of hi bred cars, from an outside point of view, they look every bit like a road going saggie, at a time when confidence is low in TVR in general i think all involved have done an amazing job. WELL DONE. I Look forward to chasing you all round the track this coming season. Will make a change to keep you in sight for a bit longer!!!!

Regards to all
Sam

Joking aside, it's the original shell as fiited by the factory and with PR002 chassis plate.

My 100kg dressed weight will more than compensate for any shortage of fibreglass the factory deemed fit not to install in a production racer however. wink

It is a Nice road car - you won't be seeing Daftlad out in his Sag or 3000S Turbo for the same reasons.

If someone wants to buy it off me, they can do what they want with it (think I might sell it early next year as too many cars and no space to do the Griff!). I might even mod it for racing for them. But no Historics is where it is at. Almost as fast as Tuscans in straight lines but crap brakes and tyres - MUCH more of a "Challenge"wink

At the end of the day the championship has already been named the Tuscan and Sagaris Challenge. 2008 should be a great season and I look forward to competing against the Tuscans, Cerbs, Chims, Griffs, Tasmins, Ms, GTFs, Tamora and V8S.

THANKYOU....

YUP, gonna be out to play in a full blood tuscan!!!!!! If the taz does not sell, i might even come out in C here and there if the racing looks good. Sounds like C has really developed, could be loads of fun.

Cool toss up then - Go VERY FAST and play with less VERY Fast ones at the front or lot in C.

Stuff it - Win the races outrightwink

Stupid question, but why can't it be called the TVR Challange.

1) Because TVR will not permit use of the TVR name

2) Because the correct spelling is 'Challenge' wink
