...So, to sum up, the "Championship" has been called the Tuscan and Sagaris Challenge; Not ideal but in the spirit of Retrowheels' comments, there is an excellent rationale for it . The fact is the name that the majority think is best can't be used.

2007 heralded the best year for the series since it lost the factory support at the end of 2004. Grid numbers were well up, the mix of TVR's was excellent and better still, there are more on the way.

The race Sagari have certainly helped inject even more interest in the Series, are not only in the spirit of TVR in their hey day but are representative of where the factory may well have been going themselves.

2008, with the great news that the Championship is to be a part of the new "beefed up" BRSCC/Dunlop package should provide even more impetus to ensure the further growth and success of the Series.

There is no problem! So let's be positive about the fantastic possibilities we've got for racing our TVRs. We should be proud about it, not ranting on over mostly rubbish and potentially risking putting off others from joining us on the track.

2008...bring it on. I for one can't wait. driving

The last posters have said enough to put the Sagaris issue to bed as far as I’m concerned at least wink.

There is however one point I would like to correct…and its only cos Andy has seemed a little picky in a few threads recently with spelling corrections etc.hehe

I don't really get it - the Sagaris, T350, Tuscan and Tamora all share the same chassis.
Not factually correct Andy as the Sagaris does actually have a different chassis. tongue out

Looking forward to 2008, some regs before then... and further budget provision from my main sponsor (MrsS)

I started the topic on the odd name of the Championship not for anyone and everything to harp on about what and what isn't a Sag FFS! (Tuscan Chassis abd Sag top is close to the best TVR they (could have built in anycase). Can see anyone daft enough to race a real Sag.

I bet it is!!

Mr Jellison,
Not sure al the references to Daft are aimed at me wink

but....I'm fairly sure a race prepared Sagaris based around what was a road car with the S6 still in place would not be competitive within the class structure (even after big spends). I certainly do not have the will or the cash to find out.

3000M, huge grins, the odd expletive and some good racing in Class C will more than do me for my first year. Lot's to learn and I know my way around an M well enough to feel that my vehicle of choice should be fun - Hell who knows, I may even shock a few folk!

I doubt it will be too many though........

Kinsler throttle bodies, and yes I believe there are real gains. Hopefully we can stick with them but under bonnet clearance for airboxes is an issue, though the engine can still drop a bit and the bonnet can come up an inch. I have the standard plenum as a fall back.

The lump isn't much bigger than the AJP, it just doesn't narrow at the waist like the AJP so it looks bigger.

BIG real gains, very big numbers percentage wise. quite easily 10% without messing with the map.

Personally I think the series must retain "Tuscan" and "Challenge" in its title since its been around since the 80's and is instantly recognisable. I'm unsponsored but I'm sure sponsors perceive value in that recognition so we don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water just in case we offend someone.

And yes I still prefer Marathon bars and Opal Fruits soapbox

While we're on the subject I've got my fingers crossed that i might join the series in 2008. bouncedriving
Can anyone tell me what being part of the BRSCC/Dunlop package means ? Will there be TV coverage etc etc.

Cheers
Richard
