Why has no one like the BBC or ITV bought the rights to the Japanese Super GT series? The GT500 cars are awesome and apparently at the moment it is only shown on "Motors TV" and "Eurosport France". I'd much rather watch Super GT instead of the British touring car championship.

Get yourself Motors TV?

It is on regularly on there, each round. And it will never be on ITV or BBC, its not high profile enough. It's what Motors TV was invented for.

It's often on World Motorsport on Sky Sports. Can't see a mainstream terrestrial channel having any interest in a domestic series from Japan. If they did surely DTM would be shown ahead of this. Channel 5 US do show NASCAR highlights though gawd bless 'em (Thurs evenings)

Exactly, why would the BBC buy Super GT before FIA GT or LMES, which at least visit this country and feature plenty of british cars and drivers? Been playing too much Gran Turismo?

I couldn't care less whether they visit this country, Super GT is faster and better to watch. The British touring car championship has plenty of British cars and drivers but that does not make me want to watch it.

Well I'll watch any racing (and I have watched the Super GTs several times) but I personally can't see the attraction of watching a silhouette Skyline/Lexus/NSX compared with the Aston/Maserati/Corvette/Lambo/Saleen battles at somewhere like Spa or Monza. In terms of speed difference GT500 to GT1 is not a massive gap, and in isolation they both look fast.

Am I the only one that thinks that the commentary on the Motors TV coverage is awful??

Aren't they on at 1.30am or some unearthly hour like that? - There are 10-15min highlight packages on NASCAR's website for free (imagine F1 doing that!)
