But what I really have found distateful this year are Mosley's ... incessant, personal sniping at Lewis Hamilton. There is pub talk out there as to why Mosley seems to have a problem with Hamilton, and the talk isn't at all complimentary.
Can somebody point me at a full list of these snipes? From the tone of this post, and Zead's above, I feel I must have missed something.
Well I've hardly kept a clippings book all year just in case of a post like this but there's been a gentle drumbeat of them since around May/June when the case started.
Right, I just thought that if there was 'incessant, personal sniping' then it'd be pretty straightforward to find, say, half a dozen concrete examples. Otherwise it's just noise.

I think his comments regarding LH being bad for F1 if he wins, smack of racism.
Can you expand on that a bit?
Well it hardly surprising considering who his father was!biggrin

Loved his quip about JYS - "Certifiable Halfwit" - Class...

We all have normal day jobs, we all have our opinions. If what I've said doesn't ring any bells or if you disagree then just say so, but don't troll me. Even better why don't you produce a set of counter quotes of positive thing Mosley has said this year and prove me wrong.

Incidentally I found the "certifiable halfwit" quote particular unpleasant, as it was a barely veiled reference to Stewart's dyslexia. It didn't show Mosley's class. It showed a complete lack it if anything.

No trolling here. What you said doesn't ring any bells with me - I'm not aware of anything Mosely has said that back up your assertion as to why he dislikes Hamilton. That's why I asked if you could show me the quotes. Asking me to provide evidence to disprove your point is, if you'll forgive me, a nonsense.

I'm not saying Mosley's a great bloke. Mosley's comment about Stewart seems crass, no doubt about it. Showed a lack of class? Very likely. Tells us anything about his feelings towards Hamilton? No.

You're right that there is "pub talk out there as to why Mosley seems to have a problem with Hamilton", and you're right that we all have our opinions. I was just trying to find out whether this pub talk against him had any basis in fact. Since you've chosen to attack me personally for trolling rather than provide any evidence to support your argument, I'm assuming it does not.

As odious as some of us think Mosley is, I cannot recall any evidence of his having ad hominem bias against Hamilton.
If anything, there have been times when he probably could have justifiably made life difficult for Hamilton, but he did not do so. These would include at Hungary, when the stewards could have been deflected from their demoting Alonso (which effectively gifted the win to Hamilton), but they were not, and also at the WMSC hearings, when Hamilton could have been given the third degree in an effort to embarrass him, but instead he was not asked to testify.

I think he has a very job difficult to do. In the past his natural urbane manner served him well, and his high intellect mostly solved problems. He is forceful and strong and has has a track record of success. This all culminates in a man getting older, getting less bothered about his perceived popularity, and he now uses this as a licence to be rude and bludgeon things through. He has lost his sauveness and now is a bit of a clot. Time to go...

I will defend him against the assertion he is anti-Hamilton on grounds of his colour. Utter piffle. I'm sure Max fully understands the marketability of a black guy doing well in the sport. Also the spiteful accuation that he was having a go at JYS due to his dyslexia? No, Max was criticising Stewart, as Stewart was spouting off his opinion to anyone who would listen, often to the sport's detriment (as far as Max was concerend), nothing to do with Stewart nor being able to read. We don't know what the intercourse has been between the two in private.

Trouble I see is who would replace Max. Who has the balls, projection and wit to do the job to his level? Brundle?

Someone here would appear to differ with that view : -

"Last week I was amazed and appalled to read Max Mosley's comments about Sir Jackie Stewart. In the last few months the administration of Formula 1 has come in for a great deal of attention, not least because its decisions could have a significant bearing on the outcome of the drivers championship. Without becoming diverted from my point in writing by becoming embroiled in my own clear personal views of the folly of that whole episode, it is quite clear that Sir Jackie Stewart is owed an apology by Max.

It is well known that Sir Jackie Stewart is a dyslexic and has struggled (as many thousands do) to cope with the all too easily made judgement that they are less intelligent than "ordinary" folk.
This is in fact more often than not quite the opposite, and many dyslexic people are highly intelligent and extraordinarily gifted, as I believe is the case with Sir Jackie. To call him therefore a "certified half-wit" would be on the first level unkind, but on another level indeed the level which Max Mosley would like us to understand he poerates on, is nothing other than a wicked joke designed to visit the utmost humiliation on its victim.

Regardless of whether or not he was alluding to his dyslexia, what he said was a gross insult to one of the sports leading figures over the past four decades and a thrice world champion. Not only is it bad manners, it also brings into question the character and judgement of the man who represents motorsport throughout the world through the august institution of the FIA.
It was conduct most unbecoming of an FIA president and in my humble view brought the sport into disrepute, a crime he recently seems so keen to eradicate. Perhaps Mr Mosley became carried away in the moment after the pressure of the McLaren case, and would like to retrcat his words wothout too much embarrassment all-round ? I would like to at least offer him the benefit of the doubt.

I would like to emphasise that my motive for writing is sheer indignation and outrage at what I see is abuse."

This appeared in Autosport in the October 4th issue. No big deal you'd think.........

but it was written by one Mr D Hill. Clearly someone who would know Mr Mosley (and his modus operandi) better than most one would of thought ....................

can't remember the last sensible thing he said...

certainly his vision for the future of F1 is about as rational as a lot of the other crap he's been spouting recently...

I'm not sure how you'd know that? AIUI MM was given the opportunity to clarify his statement and perhaps apologise and just said something along the lines of standing by his previous comments.

I think the man is an arse and should go, in his own belief those in power should avoid overstaying their welcome....bye bye Maxie wavey
