[teniuos link] Ive just employed the services of a demolition company in Hants to knock a building down in Portsmouth. Had a meeting with the the Contracts Manager, who upon spying my TVRCC coat, informed me his MD 'races a bit'. Yeah like so? I bet I can beat him....

Turns out the MD is Rob Collard smile[/tenious link]

Wonder how fast his JCBs run round the site? wink

Make sure you haven't anything parked too close, wouldn't want him rubbing or banging doors in typical BTCC style.

As long as he gets on with the job, he can smash up what he likes smile (but yes, for site visits I shall be parking round the corner wink)

Remember passing a site on the way to a BTCC race a Thruxton a few years ago, signposted "R Collard Demolition". Remembered at the time a humorous mention from a commentator about his business interests following one of his incidents.

But not as quick, Robs dad Mick <Duffy, was a extremely quick Hot rod World Champion. Also he took no prisoners on the track and not a driver to mess with.
Pity he did not have a go in BTCC for would have loved to see Mssrs Neal and Plato try their their stuff with him,For sure they would have only done it once.
Spedeworth banned him for three months for putting Brian Wright into the dog track at Wimbledon one night but Duffy duly turned up at the big winner takes all Banger Final at the end of the season. Had a pair of MGB powered A60s and duly destroyed all the star banger drivers to take the big money final much to Spedeworths chagrin.

ooooooooooohhhh memories. Duffy, Barry Lee, George Polley.... smell of Castrol R in the air....

Mick - white and green cortina GT, number 19 - didn't realise that was Rob's dad. Used to love watching those guys come through the pack every race - donkeys years ago when my (much older) bruv was in superstocks - great entertainment.

....(wanders off muttering "jumpers for goalposts" )

One of the biggest demolition companies in my area. I know a chap who used to act as mechanic for Rob before he moved up into the BTCC.
